Tennis

Its weird how they have one linesman running from the serve line to the sideline after every serve. I don't think I've seen that in tennis before.

Djokovic out, good news for Murray

Djokovic actually went off court crying his eyes out in disappointment. Unbelievable and a real shame really, because for someone who is the number 1 seed and who's won all the grand slams, you'd think the Olympic Gold medal would have his name on it. It would have really made him the complete award winner.

Murray beat Juan Monaco 6-3, 6-1 earlier to progress to the third round but Konta has just lost the first set against Kuznetsova.

Fancy a Murray vs Del Potro final.

I think we're going to be miles short of the medal target. So many epic fails so far, we don't seem to have the midas touch of 2012. I think they were aiming for about 48 medals. We're 10th in the tables so far, with China and then USA at the top I believe.

There are quite a few events (like rowing and track cycling) were GB could win quite a few in each

We arent going to compete with China and USA, but then we never do and its not to be expected to be honest.

I dont see why GB couldnt get between 40-50 medals (and if we are lucky double figures in Gold)

Andy Murray won his second match with relative ease. 6 - 3 and 6 - 1. He's the strong favourite for the gold medal.

He completely obliterated Monaco in just over an hour, really professional performance.

There are still some very dangerous players still in the draw (even without considering the possibility of an injury). Nadal (even on bad form) is difficult enough to get past without even considering anything else

Del Potro.....or Nadal

Either would be hard to beat irrelevant of their injury issues /current form, on their day they can be incredible

Konta against the Russian, both broke each others first two games then the Ruski ran away with the first set. Second set Russian continued to dominate and I think came close to 3-0 but Konta came back and currently 4-2 to Konta so a great chance to pull this set back now.

Oh well, she lost that chance to go 5-2 and the Ruski held her serve so 4-4.

EDIT:- goes to 1 set all, pretty good tennis, did well to come back from 40-15 down in the last game to prevent going to the tie break.

Was a bit behind, paused it loads of times to check on other things. Was actually a really good match, huge come back after a few games of the second set and kept finding those points. The number of times she managed to come from 0-40 down and win a game was pretty ridiculous.
