Tennis

Sheer will to win, Murray was down and out during the 2nd / early in the 3rd after losing 8 games in a row, and then Fognini lost 6 in a row

Well done Murray but that was very close

If he wins this, I wouldn't be surprised if he cruised to the gold after. Happens a lot in tennis where you get a match where you're on the verge of going out, battle hard, rescue it, then it's plain sailing after.

Nadal is still in the draw remember, that wont be an easy match on such slow courts

I have to admit after the second set I was really worried he was going out. But he pulled it back beautifully in the end.

Not trying to dis Murray at all, but Fognini's head went as soon as he lost his serve at 3-2 even though he and not Murray was still in the lead (all be it by a single game)

Not a great performance at all from Murray. Didn't hit many winners in the first set and didn't hit many in the third although he didn't need to with the amount of unforced errors Fognini was making. Still, through to fight another day :)

Del Potro's going to finish him off :D

Just started watching Konta's match. Not sure if Konta is having a bad match, or Kerber is just playing faultless tennis, but so far Konta is being thrashed. :(

Kerber destroyed the girl in her match a couple days ago 6-0 then 6-3 or something, she is playing mostly excellent tennis with the odd bad game. This match has gone much the same way, I suspected(and said earlier in thread) that this was the likely outcome.

The rain delay probably helped because had this been played yesterday Konta had a really tough 3 set match while Kerber had the quick 2 set. Still helpful for today but would have made an even bigger difference yesterday.
