Tennis

I realise this isn't the place for this, but it's better than an unnecessary new thread. Just had the most fantastic week at a tennis camp in Mallorca - played about 18 hours of tennis across 4 days, with some good coaches and some really top "club" players, including a couple of guys who were junior pros. Learned an absolute ton. If anyone's in need of a holiday and likes a bit of an activity I can't recommend it highly enough. Although I'm now shattered!

That sounds good - I wish I had got into playing tennis when I was younger.

I hope it's a good match and you get to see some great play.

Fingers crossed Norrie does enough to win!

Yeah, he was at a very high level in his last match - playing like that and he'll give anybody a good game.

It's good to see Dimitrov playing well, too.

I loved playing tennis when I was at boarding school. Particularly on the grass but I spent most of my time in the bushes trying to find the balls!

I think being Scottish, I have more of a fondness for Murray but I'm intrigued to see how far Norrie goes.

There was a real mix of players. We split into three groups, some were excellent and others were absolute beginners - everyone there was between about 30 and 55 or so.

Ah well, that's not so bad then, I was thinking it would be younger people, maybe I'll give something like that a go one day then.

Norrie father is Scottish... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameron_Norrie

Norrie won! I didn't get to see the match but good to see him make it to another final.

Oh wow!! Fantastic news! Sounds like he totally dominated him too which is brilliant!!

Cracking women's final, a proper battle with Babosa taking it in a third set tie-break.

Norrie's up next.

Norrie wins a Masters 1000! Not a terrific final in all honesty but good to see Norrie win, first Brit to win Indian Wells.

$1.2m winners cheque, up to 16th in the rankings, up to 10th in the race and new British #1!

Murray vs Tiafoe on Prime in the European Open ATM.

Think we need a generic tennis thread, seems to be enough people interested in playing and watching to warrant one.

Edit: Completely forgot about the Norrie match, massive win for him and seems to be going from strength to strength.

I think it would be a good idea to have a general tennis thread too.

I see Murray just won against Hurkacz @Pigeon_Killer, first time beating a top10 player since the surgery (edit: not his first top 10 win since surgery, forgot about Zverev).

He's also now moved into the top100 in the live race.

If he can stay injury-free, top 20 is definitely a possibility.

He's got Alcaraz next which will be a very tough match, but Murray winning the last time they played gives a degree of optimism.
