The longer this goes on, age will surely come into it. Doesn't matter how fit you are, 16 years is a big gap.

Not sure it’s a factor given it’s Alcaraz who’s had fitnesses issues in the past. The cramping at Roland Garros against Djokovic and in Miami against Sinner spring to mind.
