Paul has beaten Alcaraz before on hard courts. Alcaraz doesn't like being rushed, so big hitters can trouble him sometimes on faster surfaces. Good that he came through.

Shame in a way that Medvedev beat Sinner, as a Sinner Alcaraz semi-final would have been fun and could have gone either way. As it is, it would take something magical for Medvedev with his style of play to win.

On the women's side, Paolini is having an impressive season, really deserves her place in the rankings, on paper though it's a weak side of the draw now with either her or Vekic guaranteed a final place.

Wtf was with the moon balls from Raducanu?
They are acceptable as a last chance let’s try restart the point but it seemed like she was going for them is search of an unforced error. It rarely worked.
Agreed. Was embarrassing to watch her "tactics" - she even motioned back to her camp at an end change with her hands a moonball trajectory with a questioning expression... Baffling.

Can't help but feel she'll become another Kournikova

I'd have preferred Sinner over Medvedev.

You mean the world #8 Kornikova (singles), #1 doubles, with multiple doubles grand slams and WTA year end titles?

She never won a singles title, but often made deep runs in slams and beat some of the sports biggest players.

She was genuinly a decent player, just the media went crazy for her. She retired aged 22. Bear in mind the era she played in, against Hingis (who was practically god level for a few years), Davenport, both Williams sisters, Capriati etc..

Strangely her former doubles partner Hingis, also retired (1st time) aged 22.
