Terminator: Dark Fate

I don't know, it really doesn't feel Terminator at all. Feels like a hand off (with cameos) in a transition trying to hand it over to younger actors.

The regen bits over the bad guy looks hideous and sub par.

People said the same thing about the t1000 in the genisys trailers, it was unfinalised effects which were improved on in the final movie.

Plus this isn't the t1000, it doesn't re-from as a single glob like in past movies. With this it looks like it's making a sort of endoskeleton underneath the exterior.

ffs. that "i'll be back" line doesn't smack of lame fan service at all, does it? ****ty delivery, ****ty placement, let's just throw it in there and the fanboys will wet themselves.

I never thought it would be possible that present day Hollywood really sucks now.

Other link for the road sequence was taken down via a disney copyright claim...
Presumably because it's obviously a dodgy rip from a Russian dubbing studio/user. You can tell how they've cropped out the (probable) watermark; everything looks zoomed in. And it's naff quality with an unfinished sound mix. I doubt that video will stay up long, the film isn't out in any territories for a while.

The original link wasn't, this is just one hosting the same vid but lower quality.

It's been said in every terminator movie so far, by varying characters. Nothing new there, always come off as forced with how they plonk it in.

Not cropped? Or just not bad quality? The fact it's in Russian speaks volumes. It's a leak for sure. I'm surprised they've not posted the whole movie.

Not bad quality or cropped, there was an intro to it from Linda Hamilton and it was meant to be an imax exclusive. Not sure whats going on there if it was released early or what.

Yeah, so has some variant of "come w/ me if you want to live" (i think...) but it's just the delivery and placement, i can't help feeling they just dropped it there so it could be part of the trailer.

We'll know when it gets released, no way for us to argue about it right now other than what is presented, and even you yourself agree by saying it's unfinished that is looks poor. But unfortunately Hollywood has a bad recent track record of "What you see in the Trailer, is EXACTLY what you see in the Cinema". So it's easy to see why many of us are non-plus'd seeing it as it is right now.

It's hard to judge it given people are making direct comparisons to the t1000. It's obviously not a t1000, i would say it bears more resemblance to the tx in terminator 3 with it having an endoskeleton underneath a nano\liquid exterior, though that was incapable of splitting in 2. Just seems like people hold the t1000 effects in some high regard and anything different from that in terms of effects isn't passing muster. Considering the movie is costing around 200 million i really doubt they're skimping on the effects budget.

Just have to wait and see what's made of it in the movie, to me it looks like when the endoskeleton is separated from the nano\liquid material the shape shifting portion has to create a form of skeleton underneath, which is why it looks so different from the t1000 which was just a shiny blob really.

Agree that it's not a T1000 and I wasn't making a comparison with the T1000 when I first saw it. Only that on the video, it looked like a bad "Liquify" filter job gone bad, instead of cutting edge looking graphics; it looked like a smudge effect/filter was used instead to make the movement and that's what put me off back when I first saw it (you can check my post a few pages back, again, same thing I said). I can't remember if I compared it to the T3000/T4000 from Genisys or not, but that one had a feel of many small robots working together (also nano-tech), this one (visually, from the trailer so far) doesn't have that feel.
