I was never really into watching movies growing up but I've been enjoying the sci fi/action type ones from the 80's/90s recently.

Can anyone recommend some similar to terminator/Robocop etc?
 
That's a lot of childhood movie nostalgia you have missed out on, but even better now becaus eyou can get the full grasp of the messages and plot that they had which as a kid you'd have glossed over anyway only focusing on the gory action and cheesy lines back then :D

just go through the classics from the major action stars

i like some oddball ones personally like big trouble in little china, the fly and they live

i have watched just about every arnie movie ever made and some of them are good but nothing really beats Terminator 2

Not sure if you want both action or scifi, or any combo of the two.

Since the action + scifi seems to be covered pretty well, I'll throw in

The Hunt for the Red October (listed as action, more thriller IMO, but there's never a reason not to list it :p )
