Terrible Jaguar re-brand

Breaking the mould you say?

As I said above, I'm a fan of retro pastiches, but realise I'm in the minority..

So we are talking an upmarket Hyundai?

The Eva Green ones too. Think this is a couple of them edited together.
yes it's good , I agree - I'd subsequently sacnned i-pace adds to see what was on offer ... not quite a next door girl like Nicole , or the VW girl with the noisy earing, but it's PC.
I guess spark44 agency who did that and this F-type one got fired

Oh dear. When even the Gruniad who you think would be jumping in defend it thinks its a bad idea you know you have problems:

Wow. Even the guardian think it's too woke. Never thought I'd see that.

Its kinda similar to the Cybertruck, people who buy them know what they are getting into and its a bit of a f u to the baying crowd, however in Jags case the target audience is far more limited and tbh i cant see many people that align themselves that way buying an overpriced ev car when car ownership is on the downward trend in the younger population.
However it has got everyone talking about it, will that turn into sales? my magic 8 ball says highly doubtful.

the Bud Light drama literally pushed people to buy more beer from the same parent company, lol. Right wingers just go uno-reverso'ed and didn't like it

Epic cope it cost the parent company an awful lot of money

It's just incoherent nonsense

"Were committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and unified culture"

Diverse and unified? What absolute, current day, drooling idiocy.

This reminds me of the Apple turnaround from 1997.
Many of the older established ‘experts’ were saying Steve Jobs was a failure and driving the company into ground. During his presentation to the Apple employees many can be heard shouting out ‘what the hell are you doing’….

2007 the iPhone launched and many in the sector, including the Microsoft CEO, were on video interviewed laughing and mocking it.
The rest is history.

Jaguar clearly wants to appeal to a new generation - Continuing to appeal to the pervy old bloke market didn't work. Many of the people commenting about this re-brand; Harry M, Chris Harris & friends are exactly the people new Jag appears to want to distance themselves from.

Good luck to them ! :)

Apple actually started making products (a lot of) people wanted post 1997. This advert gives no sense that's the case with Jaguar. Where's the ****ing (desirable) car(s) in the advert? Jobs and co were mocking products they didn't understand the utility/ desire factor of not some silly abstract advert.

Would one advert really stop sane people from buying a car?

Absolutely. Car purchases (especially for premium / 'luxury' brands) are heavily emotional Jaguar have just done an awful lot of damage to their business and it's rather likely that more people will be turned away from a future purchase than will be now attracted to consider the marque.

In other new of course the person in charge of this catastrophe blames his customers and the public for this marketing shambles...

This popped up on my feed, a fairly balanced take from Rory Sutherland (the ad man)

I like Rory but he's dead wrong about the supposed reliability of EV's the motors themselves may be fairly reliable but everything around them isn't and to make things worse often when there are problems, they're often hard and therefore expensive to fix.

And Jaguar want to go even more up market and charge Bentley like money :cry::cry::cry:
