Finally, the news that I'm sure will make many ppl rejoice, TDU3 has been officially announced.

Completely took me by surprise this did. It's been so long since TDU2 was released I'd almost given up. I'm so buzzed for this, just love the experience of buying my own houses and cars, cruising around the island from one garage to another to test drive and purchase. I cant wait to see how they improve on TDU2. No release date yet.

Edit: Seeing BigBen studios doesn't fill me with hope, seeing at the state Vrally was but I do love TDU so fingers crossed.

Yeah slightly concerned also. The driving physics should certainly be better than the previous titles. But for the rest of the game who knows.

Hope they don't mess it up.

TBH though I'd like to just see TDU2 but with physics upgrade, graphics upgrade and some tweaks to things like character movement and ability to do stuff outside the car (some of it is a bit clunky) and add some extra content to the existing game because it is still an amazing base for a game with the amount of world detail, etc.

While it isn't a visual tour de force so to speak I'm still amazed sometimes at the attention to detail graphically even today - so many little touches that are missing from other games that lift it to another level.

There is a certain "factor" to TDU2 that IMO is highly unlikely to be replicated.

The problem is what makes TDU2 so great despite some flaws is the little details, like popping out of cosmetic surgery bandaged up :D, and most studios just don't put the time into those aspects.

OH NO..

DLC Cosmetics MANIA.

This is going to be a giant scam.

Something stupid like p2p 8 cars per instance or something equally stupid.

SIGH.

Scam is a bit far, it'll not go as far as Star Citizen :p

You're probably not wrong about the DLC and skins etc, something like TDU does fit in with today's sales model.

I loved the first and second and lost many hours in the casino with a macro constantly hitting the play button on the machines until I won both the R8 and the jackpot :D - I was top of the leaderboard for a few days too until people worked out how to hack them.

The problem seems to be that each sequel goes to an increasingly unknown developer with a smaller budget.

Facts are, this is a charlatan publisher in partnership with an equally not so "AAA" developer, not sure why people are getting soo excited.

This is TDU in name only.

Half your expectations, these guys just do not have the budget to do this justice.

By the time this releases, you are talking nearly a decade since the last release.

The gaming landscape is a LOT different, my main concern is how the game could easily fall into the DLC trap.

For me to be interested, I want to see improvements which I guess will not happen owing to budget constraints..

TRUE MMO with 100+ players per instance.
Humans allowed to take roles of police, issue fines for speeding/violations etc (If can catch the perp of course)
Working traffic light system.
Petrol stations and real life fuel usage dependent on car and how driven etc.

I expect however we will get TDU2 "lite" with added DLC and monetisation.

That intro sequence to TDU 2 still gives me goosebumps to this day. Some great tunes are still in my playlist because of that game like Motormark and Soho Dolls.

But like above, I don't feel this is going to be able to match TDU 2 at all. :(
