I got my game this morning, excellent service from the seller!

I really like it too. I did try at first using my wheel, but found it too difficult, to be frank about it. So I'm about 10% through using the keyboard like a n00b.

I love the open play and the freedom, the graphics are excellent, and the missions interesting and varied. I've been thrashed by about 3 or 4 online racers so far who've driven up and challenged me.

Good stuff. I've spent most of my time just driving around tbh

I was always a bit risque with the challenges I recieved...

I had a Gallardo for a long time and would always recieve challenges from Enzo's and Zonda's and i couldnt help but accept. Never lost a race and after around 10 or 11 challenges i checked and was 6th on the server!

I did the same in the beta, and probably will in retail. Just told a couple of mates on MSN where to meet and we went from there.

Can't wait for Friday now.

As far as I know the online part is separate from the single player. So whatever you get in Single Player wont be usuable online? Am I right?

Could you expand on that a bit? What type of wheel and what the problem was?

Anyone else find it difficult with a wheel?

If its the same as the beta, you create an online profile or an offline one. If you've got an internet connection it makes no sense to create an offline one.

Once you've created your online one and logged in as you're driving around you see icons for online and offline races, and it kinda works so as soon as you enter a race you're disconnected from the "session" and anybody you might have been cruising with and it acts just like you were playing single player.

Did that make sense? Kinda hard to explain, but it works.

Nope, felt a little weird at first with my Logitech Wingman but as soon as i got used to the style i was loving it.

right so lets say theres a race i complete offline single player and get gold cup....then i decide to go online and look at the map.....so now that race will be there that i completed in single player mode with a gold cup next 2 it yes?

My wheel is a Driving Force Pro, and firstly, the pedals wouldn't work until I ****** around with the configuration a little, and then the steering was erratic no matter how much fine tuning I did of the various settings, both in the game, and the drivers.

I'll try again at some point to see if I can resolve the issues but for now, I'm happy with keys

Yep - the online experience shows all single player and online races (indeed you can filter them). You can deal with single player races just asif you werent online, the only difference is that you have the option of online races too...

Its irrelevant if you are offline/online when you complete the single player races when you have an online profile...

EDIT: Just cancelled my order - will catch you guys eventually

Can someone who has this answer these two questions?

1) Does a 7800GT mean AA but no HDR?

2) When choosing/deciding on a route to race is the race route fixed or is a case of quickest from A-B via any route you know?

dont know about number 1 but number 2 i can answer....basically if the race has those orange checkpoints then you have to go under them.....between the check points you can cut corners or go on other roads if you have the option to that is

I'm not sure but I'd have thought that this would be the case as the 7-series card does not support this. That is, you can have either HDR or AA but not both

My mate said he plays his fine on a 7800GT, with 2x AA and everything maxed @ 1600x1200. You should be fine playing the game, but as ajgoodfellow said you can't have both on sadly.
