Test Drive Unlimited Released Tomoz

This game also stutters on the 360 and i dont care what enyone else says, i bought it played it and the stutters were awfull. So i got my 360 replaced and it was the same so i took the game back, i liked the game but the stupid juddering drove me mad and it had to go.

sorry guys, i've been a pleb here.

what i meant to say was to somehow mount the contents of C:\program files\atari\test drive unlimited (iirc) to a virtual ramdrive so that when the engine attempts to load new information in-game that those accesses are performed purely in RAM.

sorry i dont know what i was thinking with mounting the .iso itself into RAM lol.
 
ok, just to check. Can anyone run this game without ANY stuttering when driving around? If so, what version of the game do you have (ie legal download/retail) and what gfx are you running?
Can anyone with an 8800 say yes to the above (honestly) and if so what drivers/os/pagefile settings are you using?
Just trying to establish whether it is definitely just an 8800 problem that requires new drivers or a game problem that requires a patch.
 
yep its a 8800 problem,

if you read the Atari boards a lot are having issue's. mostly 8800's

but there is some others too.
my only problems was freeze on saves, but i fixed that.
my graphics is a Saphire 512mb 1900xtx and i love it. plays nice at 1920x1200 on me monitor, i only find it doesnt like running fraps at that size with this game,

but i have no stutters, i did change it down from 4x anti to 2x. and was more smoother.
 
I get nice playable fps with my rig with 4x af from CCC, cat ai standard, vsync off, mipmap quality, adaptive aa off. Ingame its 1280x1024 HDR on and 2x/4x aa. Id say 25/30fps. I can play 1600x 2x aa and hdr on but i prefere smoothness to image size.

Btw heres my new Lotus Esprint V8 i just bought. :) Handles great nice speed and nice interior.

Just got mine today. Have not played much.

Just thought I would post a screen of my new set of wheels.

Running @ 1440x900 4xAA - High on my 7900GTO @ 720/800.

I turned off bloom as It looked better with the AA on, plus I gained 10/20 fps with it turned off!

Been playing it for a few hours now, really like it. Getting better and better. Like the fact that other players are around you, kinda like WOW. Just a minute ago it said that there were 800 players online.

Anyway, been shopping around for a two seater to take these models places as they refused point blank to get into my alpha :( :p

EDIT : Just checked the 7900GTO clocks as they have a habit of resetting back, and they were all at stock. So all the screen dumps are posted @ stock. Overclocked im getting mid 50s to 60fps
