Well, got it today. Enjoying it but have the "one speaker only" glitch due to a sound issue, tried known fixes with no joy so hopefully the next patch will sort it out.

If anyone finds a cure that works, give us a shout :D

That F430 is bloody brill!!!

I've done 500 miles in mine and i've just tuned it and it sounds and goes like the clappers!!

Drove a SLR earlier, might buy one!!

Where is this million dollar race, anyone??
 
LOL,

He didnt do too bad, I was much quicker off the line but the F430 kept up until it hit a corner....


....although I blame the nut between the seat and the wheel ;) :p
 
I lag like hell online :S everyone is jittery and i cant drive with people for more than a few seconds before they disspapear :(

Love some of the missions, i had only around $35,000 after buying a Corvette (missed out on a $10,000 Zonda :-S). Did a mission which required me to drive 14 miles to deliver a car, managed to do it perfectly and thought great $90,000 then the perfect bonus came up and i made $130,000 :D But im gonna save some more. I only buy a car when i find im being over taken by better cars in particular races.

I've made a new profile and it keeps disconnecting and/or not showing the people online!!! It says you need to go online to complete the game, BUT I CAN'T!!!

Any ports I should have open?? I wan't to start again and play online :(

the bike rocks my world i just beat a Ferrari Enzo three times in a row. Nothing can match its accerlation :D

if its a profile that isnt gamespy accounted, then officially you cant play online with it. BUt people have swindled it. Meaning you can get your mits on a full save game and edit it to go online with, which many have/did (not sure if atari fixed that, think they did?)

anyway, atari want you to start again for online stuff basically.

There is a thread on the atari forums with a sort of howto on doing it, altho you will have to make sure you backup your stuff before trying it :)

edit: I think this was used in the beta, it seems as tho they are trying to lock the accounts down now so people don't cheat and get everything offline only to go online later with a mclaren etc.

Oh well, ill spend the next few days getting back where I am again :mad:

Any ideas on what ports to open? The way it keeps disconnecting is annoying me to hell :mad:
 
After sorting out the problems I can finally get into it :D What an ace game. Just been to every garage and unlocked the bikes. Bit disappointed with how slow they are tbh and how awful the are to control :p Plenty of nice cars to work towards though :D The Chrysler super car is amazing, with 850bhp. Appears to spin up easily in top gear!

Does anyone get random glitches where you can hear other peoples car revs like it's being played over a microphone? Is that some kind of voice feature I've not noticed?

on the official site theres an faq i think with all the ports. or was it on the disk in a pdf?

I saw it somewhere!

A quick tip for everyone, If you goto the second hand market bit while at your house and search for all cars under around 30k , you can sometimes get a really good car on the cheap.

I've bought a Ferrari F430 for $5000 , a mclaren F1 for $1000 and a murcielago for $19k .

Anways, I'm really enjoying bikes atm, Its hard to figure out how to control them properly at first but once you have got the hang of it then its a real blast. I was racing a couple of people yesterday and its amazing how good you can filter through traffic at 200+mph after some practice :)
 
Ok, i have a few questions, i dont wish to wade through 700 posts, lol

1. can you just drive round, like in gta 3 and higher ?

2. can you get out of the car ?

3. can you modify the car ? and bring it online ?

4. how does it run, does it look good, i know racing games depend on draw distance, and i dont have an 8800.
