Test Drive Unlimited Released Tomoz

I don't see why atari didn't use the same version of the game for the download that they used on the DVD copy. Its pathetic that im having more bugs/problems with the full version of the game than i did with the beta.

The only reason im fighting on is because this game is brilliant. No idea how they do it, but it really is addictive. Very easy to just drive around for hours.

In response to consumer queries regarding the digital download of Test Drive Unlimited for the Windows platform, the Atari team would like to sincerely apologize any unforeseen delays. The engineering team is currently hard at work and Test Drive Unlimited will be available shortly via digital download. In the meantime, users affected by this postponement will receive the boxed product of Test Drive Unlimited in the mail within one week, a 75% discount valid towards your next purchase on Atari.com and a $3.95 refund for product insurance if purchased.

Thank you for your patience.

I do exactly the same in GTA:San Andreas. Get in a nice car, pick a route, stick on some tunes and go.

Guess i'll be doing the same with this :)

As the manual says you can make your own radio station with mp3s from your computer. I will have a go at that tomorrow, Ive been on it all day today, I need a sleep.

Doesn't the DVD version have SecuROM or something similar in the exe

Not sure mate, but imo they made needless effort producing two different copies of the same game.

Im impressed with the way atari have handled the situation, i don't think i could have asked for a better outcome from the situation. Full retail TDU dvd, and that 75% will go nicely towards GTR2 ;) .

Goodjob atari :)

P.s. Although now i have 3 copies of TDU

Yeah it uses securom so can play the game from copy or emulated disks. So they would have had to change some stuff in the downloadable version. I dont understand why made things so bad though!

Using http://www.find-games.co.uk/ from the OP, the company that lists the game as "IN STOCK NOW !" does actually have them.

Richie.

I should hope so too for £30 :D

I was thinking, because now i have 3 cd keys of TDU (downloaded version, DVD copy atari are sending me for download problems, and the DVD version i bought from gameseek. Surely i can install the game using one of the DVD's and then use my CD key from the downloaded copy right? Meaning i will have two copies of TDU which the CD keys have not been used. So if i sell those two copies (as one was free) i will get TDU for free :p

I don't see why Atari are still using SecuROM for their games :( after the outcry over NWN2 having it. So many people posting problems caused by it & it was/is incompatible with a lot of dvd/cd drives.

Was funny to hear people who tried the securom and download versions saw the non-securom one giving a lot better performance with fps being stable and less memory usage.

Kudos for that move, I think I'll purchase to take a look for myself as it sounds interesting although the lack of 'reality' in the physics may mean it's rather short lived for me... but I'm a petrol head so easily sold I guess. :D

Ok im getting ******* ****** off now.

Just tried to install my dvd copy of TDU, which arrived sealed, and im getting invalid CD key.

:o

uninstall, delete the stuff that it put into my documents

reinstall

I had already deleted the TDU folder in my documents, but hadn't noticed the uninstall left a folder in programs folder, there was a lot of cfg files etc in it, so i deleted that, and checked the registery. I just deleted every file on my pc related to TDU :p

Reinstalling at the moment, thing is, i can't stay mad at atari......

That install music is awesome
