Test Drive Unlimited Released Tomoz

Motion blur snowdog is radial blur in the video options. Even tho i think its the best ever blur in games and makes for even better game, that would be where you can turn it off or set very very low so not noticable.

Atari is pleased to announce that tonight at Midnight (Eastern Standard Time) we will be releasing a Digital Download version of Test Drive Unlimited for the PC on our US website Atari.com/us. The download link will be found on this page: http://www.atari.com/us/games/test_drive_unlimited/dvd_rom From there you will be able to get your copy of the game.

This is the final version of the game and comes with a full color PDF manual so you are not missing out on anything. The download is quick, easy, and requires a one time activation. After that point you won't even notice the difference between the download and retail versions, except that you won't need a CD of course!

Racers rev your engines because the game is coming out tonight and it's going to be a hot one!

Best Regards and Enjoy!

Have to say I'm very impressed with the game and its loads of fun even with a gamepad (though i'm sure a wheel would be a lot better). Its also the first racing game I've played where the clutch and gears are fun to use. :o

While the game runs fantastic, I'm having an issue with the audio.

I have an x-fi xtreme music (using latest drivers) and I get slighlty distorted music and sound effects, in particular the engine sound of certain cars. The distortion is more like 'clipping' similiar to what you get if music is recorded too loud. Theres also the odd pop/click or missing sound. I don't have this problem in any other game.

Anyone using x-fi cards experiencing this?

Coolice, is the US download the same as the EU one? I only had a quick look at the link but the price was in US dollars?

Does this make any difference or is the client a global release?

its all the same version i believe.

only thing is... i think the game they have published on DVD and sent out, is different to the version they have for download. because even though both version are having problems...

only the download wont go online. and says there is a patch.
so im stuck. i can play in single player. but i paid for it online ;(

Hello Everyone,

We have identified the exact problem that is causing the issue seen in the game currently where a user gets a screen that tells them to go to testdriveunlimited.com to get a patch for the game.

Sorry for the inconvience that this has caused but we are working quickly to fix this problem. I will post again soon with more news as I get it.

Regards,
Mattlab

Anyone know the file size on the download ?

edit: 3544.92MB.... 4hrs 13 mins to go... boooooo. 232.6K/sec - must move closer to exchange ;)

yeah i've got that aswell, it's very annoying. Does it sound like the bass is on really high too? Its quite annoying, when you change cameras the noise changes >.<

edit: fix here..

gonna try it out :)

edit2: the distortion goes, still extremely bassey! (is that a real word?)

Well im an idiot, i was typing the code in wrong :p

Got it working but wow...its screwed. I've tried reinstalling twice. But still not working right.

Screen is flashing white, no matter what display settings i change. It keeps locking up when changing areas (towns/garages/map), sound is skipping, video graphics are jumping up and down. Random crashes

What the hell?

Yep, thats exactly the problem I have. I'll try out the fix but I hope a patch comes out soon to resolve the issue as I don't like having to mess with some sound settings and reverting them back everytime I play the game.
