Testing testing, one two three

Is the upgrade also causing issues with remaining logged in? I’m having to login pretty much everytime I try and view the forums. I obviously have selected keep logged in as well as safari, chrome and Firefox (all on iPhone/iOS) and closing the tab means I have to log on again as well as it timing out.

Same issue with firefox/PC. Lost track of the amount of times I've deleted cookies trying to see if I can fix things. However I can stay logged in fine when using my phone/chrome.

Interesting, I have no issues on Waterfox on the PC. Its only iOS that seems to be the issue for me. Like you I've tried deleting cookies etc to no avail.

I'm using the latest FireFox build, 80.0.1 and have not had to log back in since the update. Not that it helping much but seem the problem is not for all users, so might be something else that is interfering maybe ? No script or other extensions ?

Is this the thread for forum irregularities?

If so. I posted in a thread the other night and the thread has dissapeared from my view while logged in. I can however go to that thread while logged in if I go to find content by me and click on my post and I can post in it. I can also see it in the latest post in the forums list if its the last one posted.

Ill be honest I thought I had been banned from the thread for mentioning the B word. :p

Might have a solution for not remaining logged in. Check the bookmark/address you’re using for the new forum address. Make sure it’s https and not just http. That seems to keep it logged in.

I love you :)

I made another bookmark while logged in (with https), and it works.

Thank you

Yep! That's appears to have fixed it. I was actually about to hunt down this thread and post that visiting www.overlockers.co.uk/forums required me to login in, however going directly to www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/community/general-discussion.12/ didn't. Lo and behold, http/https was the difference like you'd said.

Browser: Microsoft Edge Chromium 85.0.564.44 (Official build) (64-bit)

This SSL/HTTPS issue is annoying, not 100% sure what would be causing this, however;

Browse to https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums (Not secure) message appears.

I then log in > sign in fine, I get;

After checking dev tools in the browser I can't see what would be causing this, nothing in the dev tools suggestion content been loaded over http but this might mean it's transporting the username and password in plain text to the servers. I haven't tested this theory though.

It's peoples signatures, some people have http signatures so certain threads show as not secure.

Isn't it caused by peoples signatures?

edit: beaten :)

I keep getting logged out even though I've updated the bookmark.

This seems to be the case. I was adamant the issue only turned up after the forum update but it's now started appearing for other sites. Seems chrome just made their policy stricter, but it's really distracting. Ultimately I'll be ignoring more warnings!

I'm pretty sure it was there for me pre update. I changed mine to https and tested it yesterday as my sig was causing it in some threads.

Having a look through this page @Blinkz sig seems to be making it happen on this page as does @TheSwede, in fact most sigs seem to be on http.

Not in this case it isn't though surely as if it was signatures then it would show in dev tools with the link as the page is loaded surely?

I mean in this instance I'm not even logged in, cache was cleared to test and I have tested in private window just in case.

I found something that it may be related...

Could well be an altogether different issue :confused:
