TF2 advice

well, got orange box yesterday, mostly, some HL to finish getting, but gonna give TF2 a blast tonight and see how badly I get ripped down =)

I guess that the hatred of snipers is directed at people who can't really aim. A decent sniper can rack up at least three or four kills in a minute - enough to demolish an attack or soften a defence.

A good couple of snipers is invaluable - Well, for example, can be completely locked down by a few good snipers. Unlice most classes, snipers can selectively whack certain classes - usually medics, heavies and engineers (and poorly placed sentry guns) - completely taking the sting out of an attack. A heavy without a medic, after all, is far less of a problem.

Demoman is best class imo. Strong vs most classes. Strong defender. If theres more than 4 on anyone team its nearly impossible to win vs them.

Aye that really annoys me, especially on some of the silly bottlenecks like on hydro where it just ends in a spamfest stalemate. Those sticky bombs are just too powerful in numbers.

ive added eddscott and skeeter

anybody else fancy posting me there steamids or add me pls :D

steamid is mrlol

look forward to seeing you on the battlefield !

I really like playing medic - it can seriously help all your team and you are just around the corner from the action. It makes a change from the typical shoot and kill role you almost exclusively find on online fps games.

The healing graphical effects are cool

my only problem playing medic is i seem to get set on fire by the pyros so much

9 times out of 10 when i die as medic its because somebody set me on fire.

whats the best defence for this ? short of getting your heavy partner to take them out before they get close ?

I am quite new to this game and medic but all I can say is that you should constantly be moving staying close to your attacking mate(s) but not to close (away from the blood bath)

look behind you every now and then

I don't know if there are any other specific ways?

If pyros are messing your game up just make sure you know where every scrap of health is on the map, odds are youre no more than 5 seconds away from one. Also meds/ammo spawn 10 seconds after it was last picked up.

I hate Snipers... but its hardly because I cant aim. Yes, getting killed by Snipers is annoying but then again getting killed by a lot of classes is annoying!

I hate Snipers because all they do is park themselves at the back somewhere and kill. Theyre not defending or attacking, theyre just trying to get a decent score. I very rarely see one defending a point or capping a point unlike every other class.

Like Anim said, knowing where all the healthpacks are is very useful.

The other thing ( which isnt so easy ) is to find decent team mates that let you take the health and protect you! On some maps its easier to stay on the safe side of the people your healing because the enemy are all coming from the same direction.

Its only when you go on a big open map that Pyros and Scouts start getting behind you :/ Then its just about communication with the people youre with since its their job to look after you!

i was thinking of 2 fort specificly

theres no health anywhere on the main bridge. And its fighting across that bridge into the enemy front door that i was getting set on fire all the time.

You can of course just jump into water and the fire will go out. You do end up a long way from the people above but it's quite likely they'll have done the same thing anyway...
