Hi,

I know we/I tried this a few months ago but would like to give it another bash.

Is there any interest?

Im thinking a couple of community servers:

1 x 24 man dustbowl/goldrush/blackwater

1 x 24 man dustbowl 24/7 instant respawn

1 x 13 man match server for anyone that wants to play matches

1 x 16 man tf2 surf server

I was thinking of getting a small dedi box for it all.

Is anyone interested to try again? I understand all those custom maps were a mistake lol.

EDIT: One server is up, its a 24 manner, with 10 second respawn time, with dustbowl, goldrush, badwater and steel in rotation. 85.234.149.102:27070 Overclockers UK Community Server [10 SEC RESPAWN]

EDIT2 Teamspeak server online for ocuk members: 85.234.155.70:9073 pass = ocuk

Add steam user: deanbeamish for more info and to get added to the ocuk tf2 user group

I'd definitely help by telling as many people about it (clan mates, league forums, etc) but the problem was with the last one it was rarely full. If I'm coming on for a game I don't want to have to sit on a server for ages waiting for it to populate.

So yeah, 24 man Vanilla server. Official maps (can take 2fort out if you want), normal respawn (10secs should be fine), HLstatsX would be an added incentive for people to play regularly on it but not terribly important imo. Oh and map voting would also be good as well (but see if you can get it so that #1 is 'don't care' and #2,#3, etc are votes for the actual maps. So many people just hit 1 to get the screen away and you end up with the #1 map being played so often so it makes the voting system pointless :p)

Be sure to state that it's a vanilla server in the server name.

I only play on TriggerHappyGamers, Hampshire Heavies and 2 other public clan servers because I think anything above 24 players is too much, I hate 24/7 of one map and I want stock maps/respawn. When you look there is actually not many UK servers like this that are usually populated. If we can let lots of people know about the server (not just OcUKers) then it should do well.

OK I AGREE,

so if i get one 24 manner with 10 sec respawn with say dustbowl, goldrush, blackwater, steel and erm another.

with map voting, would most play on it?

Also i played no servers with instant spawn and i thought that was what it was like on other servers but then played on other servers than the GTFO and found it that by defaultt there is a 20 second wait.
Personally i dont like that massive amount of time to spawn, i would much prefer something between 5-10 seconds, but nothing more i lose interest and anything under it is hard to do anything.
I like most of the maps, but i dont know any of them by name atm.
Also yeah 32 man servers are fun but massive spam, but i think 20 would be too small, so something like 24-26 would be great.
Also the odd decent custom map would be awesome for some variety.

Ohh yeah, tf2 name is Kronos Iconz, normally hiding on GTFO servers

So. server has 10 second respawn time on. Only has these 4 maps in rotation atm just to get it busy:

dustbowl, goldrush, badwater, steel

Will add more in a couple of weeks. These 4 will get it busy, will add more over time. defo.

Wanna add pl_dustbowl for our custom in a few weeks.

Will sort out ts server and weebby tommorrow.

Also just order hlstatsx!!!!!

Couple of points, you need a splash screen when you join the server as the map rotation listing is ********. Second, you should advertise HLstatx as it does pull in stat whores and have a link to the stats webby popping up now and again. Third, get "Place" working. I like to wave my epeen around. Fourth, more admins.

necro is working on motd. i didnt want to flood the server with adverts as there annoying. i will add hlstats on hostname

i havent had much time to sort anything else out as I have had 2 car accidents in 24 hours lol so got a lot of that to sort.
