Thanks for the room asshat

Yes I "cut the corner off" the first bend and was just in the middle of a quick life saver look over the shoulder to make sure I could move out a bit to stay away from the kerb, as there were some horrible pot holes on that corner. I really didn't think anyone would have been crazy enough to overtake THERE.
Then there he/she was, coming up the side of me.

That's when I went a bit AWOL.

I am not a militant cyclist at all, I think some do indeed shout at people for no reason on some of those YT videos. but if I hadn't of swerved back in to the kerb, she would have knocked me off anyway.
So instead of being mangled under a car still clipped into my pedals I took the safer option of moving out of the dumb ****ers way and took the 2 flat tyres.

Will definitely make sure I hog more of the road next time. It has opened my eyes to how clueless some drivers can be.

Tyre pressures - Unsure as I have no gauge, just a pump that states "capable of 120psi" so just keep pumping until it starts to squeak :D

I used to commute to work on that road every day before I moved to uni, and it's utterly terrible for traffic and did my nut in even in a 1.2 punto. The problem is, as it's such a busy B-road it makes it increasingly difficult to find good spots to safely overtake the cyclists I often saw down there.

As for the BMW stereotypes, there's a good reason for that ;)

Glad your ok, that was close.
It's things like this that made me sell my bike and go back to the car.
There are too many nutters on the road.

Yes, i make it my duty to cause as much hastle as i can to cyclists.

There are a lot of car drivers that do actually take that attitude, especially if your overtake them on the inside if they are stuck in a jam.
I had people in the past deliberately driving into a marked cycle lane to block me just so I couldn't overtake them.

That's in pretty poor taste.

Yes, because all of us BMW drivers are pigs of the road and deserve to be tarred with the same brush no? And all cyclists are innocent fragile users of the roads with no bad habits or attitudes. I don't make it my duty to cause anyone hassle but it seems everyone has formed an opinion of me because of the brand of car i drive, i never get the same degree of attitude when i drive my mums Polo :D

[edit] forgot my mum drives a Polo and not a Micra :p

It's no longer about the fact its a BMW is it. BMW's are expensive cars to buy and own, and in my experience some people with money tend to be less considerate to others, and generally think they are better than someone who "can't afford to take a car to work" It's not car snobbery, its just snobbery full stop.
