The 18-year-old has panic attacks at the thought of munching fruit and veg.

Its something thats always fascinated me, how worked up some people get because people might have a selective taste for what foods they do or don't like. A perspective I really don't understand at all i.e. getting riled up because people have picky eating habits.

But when someone will eat NOTHING but plates of boiled broccoli, things are a bit awry, no?

There's a limit to how selective you can be.

Limiting yourself to Chinese food only can be understandable, but to chips and cheese? That's just ridiculous. I can understand of they're adults and they are
Consciously choosing to do this, but at the age of 16 or however old she is, her parents should have done something to stop this rubbish.

You should be angry about the fact it is entirely your fault these piece of **** stories exist because you and others link them on forums going. LOL LOOK AT THIS ****...

Then everyone clicks on them, then they see a lot of people read these piece of **** stories, then they post even more of them.

The cycle then repeats over and over again until the point where there are no interesting news stories because people only ever discuss the ******.

I would unironically like to date you. I'll even bring the fish fingers.

Encouraging a healthy diet is one thing, and the case in the OP is somewhat to the extreme but its something that needs to be dealt with a lot more carefully than just forcing her to eat whatever her parents deem she should eat.

IMO she should be forced to a certain extent. If a kid is ****ing their life up as badly as this (could very possibly be fatal in the long term) then it is a parents duty to correct it before it gets out of hand

Case in the OP seems extreme, I think its her parents duty to seek professional help not force her to change her diet - definitely some underlying condition there beyond an eating disorder or just being picky.

If it's true, I'm surprised she's still living! Must be the cheese keeping her alive, not much nutritional value in the other stuff she eats.

I always knew cheese was a life saver, haha! I'm ahead of the game lads, I've been eating a block a day for years! Look how healthy I am. Hnggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!:(

You can last quite awhile when your young on a poor diet, but it will catch up with you. While its probably not true with cheese (but I can't be sure) a lot of poultry/dairy products these days have quite a substantial amount of general nutrients due to the animals being pumped full of it, chicken especially tends to have a fairly good level of various vitamins.

'She scoffs three blocks of mature cheddar and three bags of chips a week. New foods terrify her and the sight of a banana being peeled makes her gag'. .

Had a friend that's like that, surprised how healthy she was though... Gymnast, fit as a fiddle, completely against my understanding of healthy diet. Oh and it's hard work when we go out for meals, that place must have cheesy chips or she'll bread roll all night whilst tuck into a 3 course.
