The 2010 Chilli growing thread - it's scorching!

I went to Lakeland at the weekend and picked a couple of these bottles up, thanks!

That's all brilliant Nick, thanks for your help. I suppose covering one of each variety with plant fleece will stop the insects moving between them?

Also, I tried sending a trust message re dried seeds, did you receive it? I'm new to this trust thing.

I'm not sure if you've already answered this David, but how many plants do you actually have?! :D

I fancy making some chili chocolate using some dorset nagas.
Anyone got any good recipes?. I was just going to make a standard
chocolate brownie and just add some finally chopped chilis.

will be strting off in feb next year. I must say my treble chocolate chili browniw was a success. 1 dorset naga and 2 teaspoons of caynee chili powder.
Just the right amount of heat.

rofl some of mine are still flowering :S

Yep same here, although I had to move them from outside to the conservatory and now I've had to move them indoors properly as the conservatory is getting just as cold as outside!

I imagine the lack of sunlight will be the death of my poor little plants, not that they've done a lot for me this year as I started far too late.

I was idly browsing and discovered there is such a thing as chilli sherry, so I am attempting my first bottle with scotch bonnets from Sainsbury. All I have to do now is leave it in a dark cupboard for a month.

If this works I can see myself trying some Naga port . I bet that would be good with Stilton at Christmas...

:D

Naga Port, now that is an idea!

I'm so glad that I grew chillies this year, my freezer is stocked up with them and it's so easy to just grab one and add to anything.

i left a chilli on one of my plants to see what happens and its just drying out like the rest of my chillis i dried on my router have anyway lol

i guess once its perfetly dry its just going to drop off

Also, whilst in the garden a couple of months back I spotted this:

Brave slug

Slugs and snails seem to like Chillis.

Not wishing to hastle Nick, but any news on the naga seeds yet?

I am already desperately looking forwards to feb/march and starting the 2011 season :)

On a side note. My other half got me some chilli hot chocolate powder and its awesome. So next year i want to make some myself, will prob use some tesco own brand with hopefully some naga or maybe cayenne powder.

If you havent had similar i would try it, its awesome :)
