I hate changing rooms, when most of the men proclaim to not be gay they seem to think everyone else is and actively want to show their manhood to them.

Also, why do so many men use the hair dryers to dry their meat and two veg? freaks.
 
52 lengths of the pool tonight, breast stroke, in 45 mins. Not bad for a 133kg, completely non aerodynamic, terrible drag coefficient, skip. Aiming to get down to 50 lengths in 30 mins (about how long i can get away with if i go during work time!).

Oh dear lord! I can just imagine this huge powerlifting bugger in a mankini emptying out half the pools water in an awesome canonball!

Haha, no i dont and the thought scares me hehe.
I'm not that big really (well my gut is!), just have heavy bones, hence why i sink (my head being mostly filled with marshmallow is the only thing that stops me being a brick on the bottom of the pool!)

Although I don't understand why some women don't like a bit of a gut, with powerlifters and strongmen that gut is usually just huge abdominals.

Unlike with average folk, where it's just fat.

Big belly = big bench.

Indeed! Bigger belly = bigger bench! haha

My gut most definitely isn't bigger abs lol, shame :(

Sorry to but in guys. Lost a fair bit of weight since November (7 stone) and am now looking at getting back in to the gym. I have either virgin or la fitness close to me and was wondering what one people would recommend. looking at getting a personal trainer for a while just to get me motivated and show me the right way to do things. Not sure what gyms are good and bad.


Go take a look at both, see what they offer, when they are open, how much they cost. Make sure they have what you want and need, not just for now but in 6-12 months time too.

I think you under estimate what you are doing. Shoulder pressing 45's is outstanding tbh. If comparisons were direct, that would be a 90kg barbell press, however things aren't as easy as that. I think people lift something like 80% of their BB weight with DBs, meaning your barbell press for 6 reps should be over 100kg.

There arent many people here who can press 100kg on a barbell for reps :)
 
the reason why you can cycle for longer, is because its easier.

What? Something is as easy as you make it

what if only have 1 hour in the gym? and i need to do some weights as well? would i be better off doing weights for 5 mins and do 55 mins of cycling or weights for 45 mins and 15 mins of rowing?


Well it depends on what you are trying to achieve doesn't it.
