How do people have such good squats? I'm really struggling to improve mine. I'm on 65kg for 3 sets of 5 reps atm yet I can DL 130kg :/

form - is yours good? if not this will hamper you.
have you progressed up to 65kg then stopped, or are you still progressing?

some times it can be good to not squat. do something else to hammer the legs, say leg press heavy, extensions heavy and RDLs heavy, for a few weeks.
calves - are yours lagging? you'd be surprised how much your calves are involved.

You might want to think about learning to box squat. IMO no one should just get under a bar and squat if they haven't done it before partly because people tend to worry about the depth but with a box you don't have to. Having seen the difference it has made to my brothers squats, a friend's and my own I can definitely recommend them. If you use them right, and it is heading towards your goal (mainly powerlifting), there is no real need to train back squat other than on your max lifts.

I'm not saying go do it now because you are in the middle of progressing in another way but just give it a thought.

Agree agree agree.

Just learn to box squat safely, as it can cause some big damage.

Think I'm going to do some Biceps and Chest tonight in the Gym;

Flat Bench Press - 8x3
Incline Bench Press - 8x3
Decline Bench Press - 8x3
Dumb-bell Fly - 8x3
Dips - 8x3 (might tie some weights to me if I manage the 8 with my body weight)
Preacher Curls with z bar - 8x3
Standing Dumb-bell Curls - 8x3

Rowing Machine 30 mins

Saturday is going to look like this - Back/Triceps:

Deadlift - 8x3
Bent Over Rows - 8x3
Lat-pull downs - 8x3
Towel Pull-ups (yep, going to try these because I'm crazy!) - (3 sets of whatever I can manage)
Close-grip Bench Press - 8x3
Rope push down - 8x3
Skullcrushers - 8x3

Rowing Machine 30 mins.

Sounds horrible tbh.
On Sat your back will be hampered by blown biceps from the day before.
Your tris will be poor because of the hammering you gave them the day before :p

Had some treats today. Some peanut butter on white  toast and a bottle of Pepsi Max (gave up for Lent). Yup i'm taking this cut very seriously.

Today's weigh in has me just over 5kilos down, and an inch off the waist from when i started a month ago.

good work! i really need to think about my weight, put another 3kg on, mostly fat imo. sitting at 133 atm, not good for my ankles!

Interestingly some of the bigger guys seem quite nice, they've come over to talk training in the past.

I've noticed this, more people are open to asking what the hell some of the strong smaller guys are doing. This can only be a good thing, as the smaller people are the strongest you will find imo (it still amazes me the strength of the members on this forum!).
Shame its not happening the other way around, with smaller guys asking the bigger guys. We can all learn from each other after all :)
