I think he means get someone that can properly train you instead of doing cross fit, Molly Menopause.

Also Sonnambulist, sure you just lift one side of the bar with one hand whilst sliding the next plate on/off? :p :D

Depends what kind of plates your gym has! Isn't necessary at my current gym as the plates have cut-aways for carrying them about but at my old one they were all solid and didn't have much to grab hold of.

I can't even entertain thoughts like that or it just makes me depressed.:D

I mean, I'm sure pulling about 10kg over double bodyweight is 'okay' but the actual numbers look **** when you weigh as much as your yoga teacher... (;_; )

Two responses to this:

Blue pill: carry on as normal, and just be another strong bloke.
Red pill: you start weightlifting, and become a minor deity because you can stick a fair old weight over your head. Like a boss.

Consider yourself lucky, i have to pull something quite substantial to lift 2x body weight, and that can only progress very slowly. Your progress can fly up with the more you eat, and you're also more flexible than I can dream about.

Half my strength lies in my tight muscles and imbalances :p

Great attitude well done. I ran / walked 4k tonight but I suppose you'll tell me I should have walked / ran or something else.

You'll find most PTs and Crossfitters get a hard time because the majority of them to put it nicely are **** and are just selling you a one way ticket to snap city.
If you find a decent one hold them and never let them go :D Oh look it's Christmas!

I don't even want to think about 2xBW lifts, it's when being a fat panda hits you right in the feels.

So Ben won world strongest mad again (under 105kg).

Just had the task of putting all of his videos up on youtube. Think the 130kg axle FTOH for reps video impressed me the most:

In the run up to the competition belt cleans weren't allowed. They made a last minute decision to allow them but Ben still managed to bust out a winning 9 reps with no belt in sight.

I couldn't even do that for 1 on a standard olympic bar. Clearly got the bad genes.

I'm too much of a perfectionist and the skill component is so high I'd want to have someone coach me properly - it's one thing being told what to do but like in yoga class, it's invaluable to have someone physically adjust your positioning and be able to walk around you and see what you're messing up, your strengths and weaknesses etc - I'll never rule it out but I'd have to be in physically close proximity to somewhere with the right equipment and people. /excuses

Yeah that's all I saw too :p you think those pros all started their oly lifting career with perfect tuition? Gotta start somewhere, MrThingyX started by cleaning his socks off the floor, look where he is now, cleaning bars above his handsome head!

And also into his face on the odd occasion, don't be that guy :p

It was a joke, calm down :)

Can feel those feels, I either need to lose weight or/and gain strength. Both feel as hard as each other right now :/

24kg down since 1st September. Skipped the gym last night because if childcare commitments but I think I needed a break. Was walking like I pooped myself Sunday Monday Tuesday and aching all over.

Going to see if I can squeeze in a crossfit session tomorrow and then back to mma Saturday.

Terrible session being had today :-(

Aching like crazy from a deadlift session on Thursday. Attempted the 300kg came up to my knee but wouldn't go any further. A disappointing week all round

At Bath Uni sports village for a kids party and it's all very strange overlooking the gym - 4 squat racks all being used for squats( including a young Girl front squatting what looks like 80kg for reps)

What happens if someone wants to do sloppy curls and text?
