^^ good stuff :) - just don't overdo it!

Back to work on Monday. I will miss having the free weights to myself in the mornings. Back to the busiest time early evening when you can barely move and good luck getting a squat rack :(

Our garden is big and needs a lot of maintenance - there are a lot of brushes, spades, rakes, and a garden incinerator too to deal with any fur! ;) :D I will have to re-grow my beard though....

Miles away from you my friend, down in deep Kent! :(

One day!

Need a little help/advice.

I had been going to the gym for a few months and even had a little log going in the other threads.

However, 5 weeks ago whilst in the gym my right elbow started to hurt too much to lift anything and it's not gone away. If anything it's got worse.

I'm pretty sure it's tennis elbow and mildly concerned it's not getting any better. I've tried doing some light weights at home but can barely lift a tin of cat food at the moment.

Is there anything I can do to help cure this? A mate who is big into weights said cod liver oil tablets and nurofen which I've been taking every day and it's still no better. Have booked an appointment with a physio for later in the week. I'm gutted because I really felt I was starting to get somewhere.

Have you not seen a doctor? If it's not healed for 5 weeks then it's something that needs to be looked at. As for me, I was going to take a week off this week as I can't remember the last time I've taken an extended period off. But I've injured my wrist in rugby anyway so looks like I definitely have to take it off now. Do any of you guys take extended breaks after a couple of months?

tendonitis type injuries won't heal without a fair amount of rest and then trying to work on the root cause whether that be poor flexibility placing more strain on it or poor soft tissue quality.

I'm sure mrthingyx will be along soon to recommend the correct mobilitywod video to help.

Still worth popping to the drs just to check it's nothing serious though.

Tom is has it spot on here. I've just recovered from two weeks of tendinitis injury from arm wrestling (affecting elbow and wrist), and even then it's a bit painful. Largely caused in my by tight bicep and forearm, so I've been digging it in it with my fingers quite a bit, massaging as much as I can bear.

Just remember to keep training but at lower intensity.

One of the worst things to do with muscle injuries (save the most serious) is going cold turkey.

I injured my arm earlier this year, stopping is no option so had knock 20kg off my top end for safety, use wraps and work arounds for tricep exercises. One thing never to do when having an elbow pull is things like skull crushers. That's free advice

I wouldn't suggest continuing training with that particular body part, but for sure doing alternative lifts. Personally, when I suffer from injuries (seems to happen more now i'm closer to 40!) is go swimming. That just seems to help a lot for some reason.
