Does anyone use super greens/reds? Where'd you get them from, and do they still taste as awful as steedies initial review?

Really struggling to get proper veggies in recently :(

Also any fish oil supplements. or are they all the same?

Right well I'm a crossfit convert I hurt myself yesterday following one of the stupid routines. Deadlift till failure which for me was pulling my hip or back. Now very sore. Think that will be my last session.

It's these reasons I don't like the idea of Crossfit, I can't see much of a benefit of Deadlifts to failure? It'll fry your CNS and most likely make people lazy, lifting with your back because your other muscles become fatigued to the point of 'failure'. Some of the stuff they do looks fantastic too, well thought out and advantageous. IMO you just need to pick the right stuff, from a bad bunch of it. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Doing Oly lifts against the clock is an injury waiting to happen. I've seen how much Rippetoe is against Crossfit due to the number of injuries it causes, but I thought that's just him stuck in his ways but then it happened to someone whose workout log I was following.

On bb.com we used to follow eachother's training logs since we were both running the same program, but then he decided to join a Crossfit box. I didn't want to be negative and tell him he'll get hurt so I bit my tongue. 3 months later he injured his back doing one of those girl name workouts so he took a step back and realised in those 3 months his lifts actually went down, and all he had to show for it was an injury.

I noticed from this thread you were doing Crossfit and I was going to say all this a while ago, but it's anecdotal and I'm just some random guy on the internet, so didn't see the point.

I picked up a bar the other day properly for the first time in over a year ;) But I am struggling to pick a program. I really need structure!

I've done stronglifts to death and starting strength variations and I want to give 5/3/1 a blast but with me just starting again I don't want to do something that's a little more advanced.

Strength is my goal (But really I just want to be lifting again) So I am going to spend this week working out some rep maxes (Nothing too stressful but I have to get myself a starting point)

What do you think? At the end of the day it's all pick up and put down weights at my own pace :D But I thought I would ask you knowledgeable bunch first! And I've missed so much over the last year :(

"EDIT"

Just for reference before I stopped lifting just over a year ago my actual 1rm were - 210 DL - 180 SQ - 110 Bench - 80 OHP @ Bw 100k

What are they now?

I love MADCOW, seems to give me gains everytime I use it. It's very squat oriented though, and obvioulsy similar to SS but with a different progression. I enjoy it mind. My squat went from 110/120 1RM to 160 within 3 months. My dead went from about 150/160 to 195. My bench done the normal and just stayed weak though :/

Started doing push-ups quite a bit recently (at home, when not at gym) but my wrists have started to ache from them. I've seen that using handle/bars can reduce the stress on your wrists..... Is this true? and can anyone recommend any? don't have hex dumbells to use at home.

Go to a gym that has wattbikes and do some structure cycling training. You can probably get away with it without knackering your back any further.

And seated curls. Lots of seated curls.

You are probably just overworking them. Do really REALLY need to do push-ups when not in the gym? Why not just train harder in the gym and let your body recover properly?

Yeah it's a great site, I just need a starting point so it will come in handy right now ;)

And on that note I managed some overhead press this morning :D Got up to 80Kg for a single rep which means I have lost zero strength on that lift :p I couldn't do a second rep though.

It felt so much heavier that last time :p

Deadlifting tomorrow to see where I am :( I doubt those will be as easy as it was a back and legs problem that has put me out for months.

Over the past two weeks my deadlift form has just gone completely to pot, I've gone from pulling 110kg with solid form to being unable to stop my back arching. Really can't put my finger on it, tried slowing it down, lighter weight, concentrating on keeping a straight back but its just arching constantly.

Sad times.
