The 800x600 MAXIMUM screenshot thread (56k no no)

x3 , i might give it a try bored of all my FPS games at mo

need to unwind with some gentle gameplay is this a slow moving game? can i just click and watch shops cruise thur space?

X3 looks amazing, what was the fuss about it before, when people were slagging it off? im sure i never saw a good word said about it until it was on steam
or is it just too much for the mainstream gamer to get in to?

Reinstalled FarCry to play it on my X1800 (which should be here by now) and decided to do some comparitive shots with and without the 64bit patch and also different rendering modes.

Nice shots thanks, I think I prefer the cold render but the other mode does feel a lot more tropical

I got more but i can't be botherd to resize and upload em all ;)

I bought X3 when it was released, but gave up because of all the bugs, but a case of appendicitis recently gave me a bit of free time, so I decided to give it a try again :p
I'm glad I did, latest patches solved all my problems, I havn't spent this much time on a single player game in years, last game would probably be Elite 2.

My new Argon Mammoth alongside my Split Elephant.

My Split Jaguar Vanguard in between the 2, gives a sense of scale.

Yep its free (and the plan is to keep it free for aslong as possible). Do remember tho that this is only a prototype (not an alpha, beta or anything else) so there are a lot of improvements yet to be made ;)

TY :)

I tried the Cold render mode because i saw a post on the FarCry forums saying that it looks more realistic. IMO Paradise mode looks more realistic considering the tropical atmosphere of the game and the naturally vibrant colours. Cold render mode just makes it look like some place in England :p

I tried cartoon mode once and, looking back at my screenies, that's what cold mode reminds me of.

iirc the human eye can't detect anything over 24 fps

LOL
I bet you think that because UK PAL & movies are at 24fps.
The reason 24fps is chosen is beause it is the minimum theoretical frame per-second needed for convincing movment (not the max we cans see) plus the limitation of the tech when it first came about plus storage of film & cost per-frame.

You can get away with 24fps with TV/Movies as your not interacting with them ...lag/response are not issues.
