The 800x600 MAXIMUM screenshot thread (56k no no)

Ascendant Frontier was the first to build one of the all new Platforms in Eve:Online, a massive operation setting us back a whopping 28 billion isk. This station is the first of its kind and involved a massive operation to shift 4.3M m3 worth of goods from Empire to the platform location, which also required 7 Freighter trips all in less then 24 hours to complete this project. Freighters are big, unwieldy and have no way to defend themselves. As ASCN is still at war with the Mercenary Coalition, this required heavy escorts over what would take a single player 40 minutes to negotiate, but takes considerably longer as a group. STK Scientific, the corporation I'm a member of provided the freighterfor the trip, one of only a handful currently in the game (they cost a fair few billion themselves), and also provided pilots to defend the region of space whilst the platform was being built. This whole event was deliberately unannounced, not even to the alliance members themselves, until it was actually taking place, so as to avoid information getting leaked out through alliance spies, given the huge logistical nightmare involved in shifting that much stuff down out of empire space into the lawless 0.0 space, it is a remarkable achievement. At one stage whilst I was flying on guard duty we had 30 odd ASCN players in the same system as the platform and a further 30 odd flying guard duty in the surrounding systems, with many many more watching the route down from empire to our space in an effort to provide us with an early warning of any invasion.

Anyway.. enough blurb, on with the pictures. Platform during construction phase, a pretty egg that is barely the size of a battleship:

Which becomes (after DownTime) an actual station, complete with clone station, refinery, factory etc. Oh, and strip joint, brothel and quafe bar.

Feek, in his large battleship (Gallente Megathron), seems to be distracted by one of the signs at the station..

Just installed Flight Sim 2004 so I'd thought I'd take a screenshot of my first take off which happened to be in a 747:

All details are maxed out with AA switched on (even though it doesn't look like it!). It was re-sized from 1280x1024 & it's completely standard - I haven't installed any scenery improvements or patches or anything!

Bit jaggy there, how did you resize it because the method can effect the results quite a bit unfortunately and also compression in jpegs can be a downer too :(
PSP shareware was pretty good, not sure if its available anymore but paint sucks for resizing

How come they let you fly a 747 straight off, seems a bit lackadaisical on the part of the FIA there. Can you carry a shuttle on the back ?

Hi

I resized it using Paint Shop Pro 9 which usually gives decent results - it didn't look that good on my screen actually. Are there any improvements to this? Should I use AA on the ATI drivers - I'll also check that AA has been enabled

Not sure on that! I haven't actually played the game before so I just pressed "Create a flight" and chose the 747 from the available planes - I haven't done the training yet. Don't know if I can carry a shuttle on the back - how can I find that out?

Not Phil, but it's Juiced :)

yea it is juiced. Its a pretty good game for fun but not the most realistic. The cars look nice. Can get a bit annoying when other cars hit you and you get blamed for accidents and lose respect points.

Only other thing is to check the algorithm under the resize options, because it can use a simple one but smart size is usually best

nothing amazing but i thought i'd post a fifa shot

fifa.jpg

my top star for Swansea City hitting a belter of a shot that rifled off the crossbar, smacked the keeper in the head and rolled gently to the wrong side of the post :o

playing Kiddiminster, ended up winning 2:1 - they scored via a goal mouth scramble :o and i scored with a blistering fluke of the season shot from about 30-40 yards out that hit the post and went in, and a tap in off a corner :)
