The person who owns that car will lose a fortune unfortunatley!

Spie said:Ah, "The 911 Turbo". Such a good thread Title.
I compare this car to a fine wine. Specifically one fine wine. Penfolds's Grange '98. Look it up.
There are a few cars that appear initially more impressive, but this car is a keeper. You have to have owned other high performance vehicles to appreciate the sublime mix of performance in an everyday package. If ever there was a candidate for "Iron fist, Velvet Glove" this was it.
Next week I will honour my car with a Tubi exhaust upgrade. I will look forward to that howling banshee wail as I decimate all and sundry that cross my path.
I only hope that all those 911 wannabee's out there remember that no matter what age you are or what you do right now, you can have a 911 Turbo if you want one bad enough, and I sincerely hope you do.

I know this may sound like a really strange question from someone who's been a member for two years and who has quite regularly popped into your establishment, but what is this dream, or is that dreamy, car replacing?
I wrote that when I came back from the pub. Not bad after a skinfulSpie said:Mr Fox. To compare a 911 Turbo to a 575M is tricky. Everyone has their own agenda regarding cars like this, but I will tell it the way it is from a new owners perspective.
From a visual impact point of view, there is nothing like a Ferrari. Say Rosso Red Ferrari for double effect. Owning a 575M tought me that Ferrari is a brand worshipped by children and pensioners, and everyone else inbetween.
You can't go anywhere without being noticed and commented upon, and that's really thrilling at first. But after a while when the showbiz gloss wears off, it's just you and the car , and the 575M is a hell of a car.
It's all about what you want to do. Do you want to floor it at 100mph and feel warp drive acceleration up to 175 and beyond? If so the 575M is the ticket you want.
The 911TT is different. The chassis is very focussed. As a newcomer it feels odd, dangerous even. But learn to live with it and you'll realise you can push it hard, and when you do you will appreciate the special blend of handling and roadholding that makes a 911 unique. For me the 911TT is the ultimate supercar, because you really can use its authoratitive capabilities on a day-to-day basis. Anything else is just pub-talk.
The best car I have ever owned. Buy one if you can.
