And my password protection on apps/folders... and the app to hide apps/folder ffs :(
 
Do you know what is most annoying?

I have not had a screen protector on my iPhone V1 for the last 2 years and the screen is perfect!

Uh, I have to reinstall OS now because of me trying ways to downgrade firmware -.-
Had to restart and then mouse and kb didn't work and I have system restore off :(

guys looking at a ipad for the other half for college and general use around the house

college has mucho wifi as does the house, would i be ok with just the wifi model or does the 3g version offer better features?

any ideas on whether i should go 16 32 or 64 gig?

any buying advice please
 
Not sure if anyone here would know but if I got a contract O2 Mobile Broadband Dongle, can I cut the SIM to the size of a Micro SIM and use it on the iPad?

I've done this for a Vodafone Mobile Broadband dongle SIM and it works fine just not to sure would it work on O2.
 
I caved in and got my 32GB Wifi/3G version due to be delivered on Monday. Ordered it and the Apple Folder/Case thing for £630. I was originally holding out till next June for the next revision.

Figured it would be great for the parents to view our photo albums as the iPhone and the OS in general is the only techy device they feel confident and comfortable using.

I myself will use it for reading books, websites and generally it'll be my travel companion I guess. Everyone has different uses for it.

3G + wi-fi is simply what it says. No other benefit apart from 3G for the cost.

As long as you have the password for the college wifi your fine ;)

Depends what your using it for really... i bought the 16gb but i wish i had bought the 32GB. Applications such as racing ones can take up a few 100MB each. The new GTA game is 440MB or so. Considering the 16GB is 14GB (iTunes) space can go down. You can still get enough video to last a few day and music... it just depends on how much you want to sync the iPad really and change things around..

Like i'll generally have no video on mine unless i know I will need it (long trip for e.g.) So ill put a few podcasts on it.. my music collection is bigger then the 14GB available so will need to spend time making music playlists.. I like to have a bit of everything on the device depending on what mood I'm in so
 
Just really wish apple would allow the big poker sites to make apps for this, would make it the ultimate device for me

Don't forget the black bit at the top back that the non 3G doesn't have.

Well mine does now as I used a marker pen to get the same effect. People now say "oh you have an iPad 3G" and I laugh and say "no I don't actually, I saved £99.25 as I bought a marker pen instead"
 
I have to admit I dont know how much storage an iPod uses for its inbuilt apps and "os", but who thinks its a little wrong for Apple to list the total storage on their specs rather than usable memory (this is because the flash is so limited, its totally different imo for a computer to be sold with 500GB disc of which 5GB is Windows and apps compared to 64GB total and 2GB+ is apps/OS -and not only this its also still pretty easy , and cheap to upgrade hdd on a computer, however upgrading the Ipad.......hmmm lets not go there lol)

Whats the OS like - easy to slim down if features arent required, or better to leave as is?

Also an ipod is really for one task and one task only - listening to music (or books etc), so its reasonly easy within its life time to judge how much space you need. Because the Ipad can be used for so many different tasks, it takes on a whole new meaning if you cant upgrade the flash and you run out....

Well the capacity is 14GB (iTunes reading)
Applications vary in size. My smallest applications are things like SpliBrowser, facebook. These are under 1MB. My biggest application is 443MB, 396,362,314,276,215,213,193,183,173,127,127,110,102. Those are obviously all games. *I don't have then all synced*

The OS is fine in my opinion. Browsing the web is great, i have a tiny problem with the music application but its tiny and being fussy.. etc etc. I did jailbreak though just because then I can do MORE. The multitasking for a start, hiding applications is something rather important for me. Being able to download files (though I'm not sure if there's an app store app which can do this now) earlier i downloaded a South Park episode from a website. Then other things like SBSettings so i can change my brightness quickly and easily, wi-fi on and off. But the default OS is fine but its nice to customise stuff a bit. Would be nice if we could delete apple apps which we don't use such as I won't ever use contacts (not sure if there's the weather on there or not... for some reason they didn't add things like clock and calculator'
 
Mine arrived yesterday. Not had much time to play with it but it's good and pretty much what I expected. Having been spoilt by the iPhone 4's screen, I find the iPad's IPS display pretty 'crap' tbh. It's just that once you get used to a retina display, everything else looks very clearly poor. iOS as usual is brilliant to use and so suited to a screen this size.

Secondly I seem to be having odd issues charging this thing. I've got it hooked upto the front USB ports on my monster PC and the top right display on the iPad states 'Not Charging'. I need to look into this when I get home, as the only thing that does charge it is my uMacbook!

Still loving mine, hate the uselessness of the 3G tho (3 network), half the time it just doesn't work without restarting it, yet my girlfriend has signal on her 3 mobile most of the time..

Putting some films on it using handbrake is good tho, surprisingly good quality, been using it a lot as satellite navigation lol
