*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

it wont, at least not whilst the screen is on.

The ipad charger provides more power than typical USB so it will charge slowly with an iphone adapter, slowly when screen off through a PC or properly through its own power adapter.

The ipad adapter can be used with iphones/touch as well.

A bump for the iPad 1 users out there :D

Just got a second hand iPad, liking it very much but would like to customise it so I'm thinking of Jalibreaking it. It's got the latest 4.03 firmware on so I guess I'll need to downgrade that to 3.2 if I want untethered?

Any help is appreciated

Downgrading firmware is only possible if you have the SHSH firmware certificates saved within Cydia from when the device was on a previous version.
If the device hasn't been jailbroken before and is on 4.3.1 now you're probably out of luck.

1.order from university I work at
2.wait 5 days after release (two of those being a weekend)
3.walk in and pick-up
4.??????
5.PROFIT!

It's bloody good although like others it'll be going back when stock is more abundant as the backlight bleed annoys me. It's not as bad as others have posted here but I paid for a fully working device.

It does feel significantly smaller than iPad 1 though, a very good 2nd gen release. :)

Had my original iPad since it's launch last year, couple of things that I've been meaning to ask/moan about for a while though but kept forgetting

1- When on ocuk (or any other forum) on it and trying to reply to a long quote is there a quick way of navigating through the message window rather than bring up the cursor and drag it up and down? Obviously just swiping your finger up and down scrolls the whole page rather than just the reply window. Would be good if Apple could fix that in the future given how many people post on forums these days

2- This is more of a general query how many people when typing 'the' look at the screen and only see an 'e'? Also when hitting space accidentally hit 'm'? Both of these I do all the time :o

Use two fingers to scroll in the message window. It's not perfect but it does the job. :)

After spending some more of the evening with it I have to say, the new design and shape feel very good in the hands. I like the curved back on the latest iPod Touch but due to how small it is its difficult to get a good grip on. The design works far better on the iPad.

Best bit is the speed of web browsing. For many sites such as this, it'd as quick as a desktop browser. :)
