I wonder how many people will be bored of their iPads after a month or two, it will be like the iPod Touch, a great gimmick that gets boring after a month or so

Had an iPod Touch for 6 months. Not one day goes by without me using it for music listening, net browsing, app playing, even video watching. I'm virtually certain I'll be using the iPad on a daily basis for months and months. There was no way I was going to put down the cash unless I was confident about this and I truly am. I expect I'll still use my Touch too, for music listening whilst out (it's still clearly the best product for general audio / podcast stuff as the iPad is too big to take down the gym!)
 
I'm quite surprised to be honest that with all the fuss that was made in the lead up to the ipad being announced.... there is so little talk / discussion / pictures of it on here! :confused:

Mine's now showing as shipped (32GB 3G) and so excitement has increased 10 fold :o Got Friday off work (actually for a hospital appointment... but don't you just love it when a plan comes together! :) )

I know ibooks is on the appstore now but is it fully working? Anyone got any good replacements for the calculator app etc that are missing since the iphone?
 
My order is still saying estimated shipping 28th May. I ordered at 9am.

I wonder have the people who have received shipping notifications only ordered the iPad itself?

I ordered the iPad, wireless keyboard and case. I would hate it if one of the other items wasn't in stock so they held up the shipping of the iPad.

I think those of us who get them this week will more than make up for the **** poor performance of those who already have them :D

iBooks is not on the UK appstore yet. It may have hit some other countries but I just did another search and it's not there for us.

I'm still loving the iPad, it's very versatile. I had to take my daughter to a gig recently so I dropped her off, grabbed a Chinese takeaway and sat in my car with the iPad propped up on the dash and watched a film as I ate my takeaway while I waited for her. In the end I think it used around 15% battery for a two hour film (it was dark in the car so the screen brightness was well down).
 
Oh, whoopsie - I could have sworn I'd heard that ibooks was out and about :o

I've just been flicking through app store d/l'ing a few free ipad apps in anticipation.... :p
 
I ordered at 10:30 on the 11th, and mine has been shipped...

Can't wait, also can't truly explain to people why I'm getting one :D - I just tell them to wait and have a go then they'll understand :D

Why out of interest do people want to see pics? they are all the bleedin' same bar a black strip at the top on the 3G ones :confused:

Moreso interested in pics of the screen / apps / options to be honest!
 
I was determined to get the 32Gb WiFi but then i calmed down and realised its just a toy so im going to hang fire till they are released. then ill buy one.
