Well I dissappear from the forums for a month or 2 and look what happens!! My old desktop thread gets archived and we have a new one!!!

Nah to be honest I think it was needed! The other thread was simply an amazing feat with so many views and replies!!! Superb....

But anywayz on with business...

They're both from my mac which is now running Tiger :)

Let me know if you'd rather I don't post any mac screenies in this thread.

I'm gonna see if I can get back into modding my windows machine again and stick up screenies of that too.

Ah...samurize...haven't used it in a while but I know a little about it. What are you trying to do with it exactly?

Nice wall on your latest! i'm sure some new theme or wallpaper will come out that'll have you thinking of all sorts...it's the nature of this desktop modding thing...you get dry spells! That's why I haven't been around for a few months. That and having other things to do lol.

You getting a mac anytime soon???

I want to get some info on my destop: tv cpu stuff etc!
 
TV is the bigggest pain in the ass i used to find. Probably explains why I never used it that much, takes up too much space for my liking.

Getting info on your cpu such as speed, load etc etc can be done in a few clicks though. Not too tricky at all. :)

Check the guides Dom posted and if you have no luck post again and I'll help you. I need to make a new msn for fellow customizers i think...

i'll assume you're already using columns ui?

now in the columns ui preferences, goto the 'other' tab, hit import and browse to the soap.fcs file that you have downloaded. it's green by default so if you want to change it, goto the 'globals' tab. you'll see it's documented well. just change the value

$puts(scheme,x)

where x is the colour scheme you want.

that's it. :)

it's crazy looking at the code used to make it. i wouldn't know where to start... :eek: :D

Hey thanks, i'm guna have to do some homework on finding new themes and stuff. Might have a play with one of those dock programs and get back into photoshop CS.

Hope to get a mac when i get a decent job lol. Might have one with hardware support :) Not looking for a high spec one but maybe a iMac G5.
 
Well I've got a new email addy. It's in my sig at the bottom. i'm using that for all my customzing stuff :)

You can use it to add me to msn too for any help with anything (I'll try and be on more than I used to be) :)
