The All New Desktop Thread, Images No Larger Than 800x600

Mine:

Its clean because I have PSP'ed the desktop icons and taskbar.
Using Samurize (after 6 months without it), my own skin + Weather etc.
Wallpaper is one I made in 5 minutes yesterday to (kind of) match the rest of the desktop.

Any chance I could get a copy of you samurize skin...i like it and its exaclty what i've been looking for...?

Sorry to sound like a complete novice on modding desktop themes but thats what I am, how do you get that side menu up with all your pc specs on and that to do list and stuff, I aint got a clue ?

Hmm that wallpaper link is fine here Try http://www.socksoff.co.uk/index.html and you'll find it there anyway.

That sidebar you refer to is created via Samurize (www.samurize.com) quite a popular system info/display tool that uses the lowest amounts of resources out of all of the other variants. It's drawback is, it's extremely newbie unfriendly.

A lot of the users on this forum started out by modding some configs found on samurize.com and gradually got used to it all.

Actually, have managed to use my bulldog pawltry 20Mb webspace...

Problems with sending zip files with gmail etc, sorry guys who I tried to email it to. Hope this works.

Samurize.zip

You will need to have latest (1.63) Samurize and Weather etc installed. Zip is in normal Samurize folder structure.

Also, if you want some more icons for the weather there are loads of good ones here:

I like (and use) the Konfab set, plus the WeatherPod is great.

Hi lol, its up to you but i dont think there will be that much demand for it. Bulldog should be OK. its a 3Mb file, mainly due to the iconset used.

If you fancy hosting it that would be good, but I think it should be OK for the time being. I dont use the Bulldog space for anything anyway

Hi there,

Well first of all I suggest you have a look at Dru's excellent Windows Customisation Guide: Click Here

For the theme you will find that the UX Theme Patch and Windows Blinds are good (both in the customisation guide i believe).

For the calendar and notes in the bottom right I think you will find he will be using a program like AveDesk (found in customisation guide)

For the right sidebar Kainz will be using one of his own Configs with Samurize which you should be able to find on the Samurize website if Kainz has posted it.

Ok I read through the guide but I am still having problems, O downloaded the patch and then I went to wincustomize and downloaded some skins such as the Aero-XP but I cant get it to load up, some of your desktops are amazing but I just dont know how to do it, I also downloaded samurize but I am also strugling with this ?

Winamp skin is MMD3 from winamp.com with one of the red themes selected.
The wireless signal, weather, download/upload speed and BBC news widgets are all from konfabulator
