*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

That's not free.

You're paying more as a business customer, so as an upgrade you'd get a "free" iPhone 4 providing you stay with them for another 12 months. Generous of them :p

Business deals used to be better than the pay monthly deal. Business deals 12 months ago were the only deal that you could have unlimited texts on for £35 a month. So i think my contract of 600 mins and unlimited texts for £35 with a free iPhone 3g which i will sell back to them for £140 is pretty good.

Quick question guys, it seems on the new tariffs that you get 'unlimited' text on iphone 4.

I currently have the 3gs and will for a few more months, but only get the 500texts (i have to pay and extra £7.50 a month for another 500)

Will my tariff automatically change to unlimited text as well?

You'll carry on using the exact same tariff, until you decide to change phones. Or you could pay to end the contract and move to the new tariff.

My contract is up in 3 days.

just "upgraded" on line to simplicity month on month with unlimited data. Will buy PAYG when released and job done.

Anybody else think I have a better option?

The cloud is very common, although with O2 you get access to btopenzone too so there's no difference really.

I use the cloud all the time at the train station, starbucks, macdonalds and various other bars and things. It's great! :)

thanks... im swaying back towards o2 for the cloud and bt openzones. dont like the fact they are charging for MMS and poor 3g coverage tho

Big time.
College only has wifi for laptops, and my work does have wifi but at a connection of like 10kbs, which is no good for anything apart from emails.

WiFi is WiFi. Unless they've got some special security that requires AD authentication or a special client I can't see how they can tell the difference between a phone or a laptop.

I've just realised people who now get a 3GS on the same plan as me (£35 a month) get unlimited text and I only get 500... Can I get the unlimited?

What specifically does it say? I have OCD, so it must fit or it'll annoy me :(:p

Ahh that's a good point. That happened to my sister. She was told Unlimited Texts had been dropped in favour of Bolt-Ons when she signed up. A few months later they brought it back. When we phoned to complain they swapped her over and gave her more minutes as well.

So it might be worth giving them a call and pretend you're unhappy. :)

What do you mean? I'm just annoyed that on my current 3gs plan i only get 500text, but people who buy the 3gs now (and the iphone 4 when its out) get unlimited :(

@ Kawolski .. the usage goes from whenever you last restored the phone. It's not that smart! You'd have to log in to the carrier's website to track more information. I logged in to O2 earlier and checked my past couple of months etc

Wrong, it carries over. I restored my phone the other day and it transferred the information across.

Based on that, I've used less than 500mb since I got a new handset about 6 months ago.

Kinda think people are making more of a fuss than they should about unlimited data's demise. Seems like I'm always using it, guess not as much as I thought.

Cheers for the reply EVH. I did think about going though all my past bills and doing the maths but couldn't be *****.

Other than the initial outlay, can't think for the life of me why I would want to upgrade my contract when I can get the 100 mins less on the simplicity 12m for £20 less.
Been with O2 for over 5 years and usually play the valuable customer card, this'll be the first time I've had to pay anything towards a handset.

I've got my o2 envelope, I assume they expect us to fill in the Reference number on the front.
