The All New Manager Merry Go Round Thread

Gerrard went unbeaten at Rangers but was a laughing stock on the Prem and Rodgers got Leicester the honour of being the most expensive squad in history to get relegated. I would go much off a manager's merits in the Scottish League.
Gerrard won 1 trophy out of 9 during his time in Scotland. He was rotten.

I only pointed out his record wasn’t actually that good. The same again at Aston Villa. For the record I think Ange is a good manager and I’m sorry to see him go. I wish him all the best at Spurs.

Any Spurs fans here? What's your take?

This enough to keep Kane?
I'm not a Spurs fan and I don't think it is enough to keep Kane, but then I don't think it would make much difference who was appointed. Maaaaybe if Poch had come back he might have convinced him but realistically he needs to go to a big club NOW.

Also for the people saying he's 29, that's true but he'll actually be in his 30s by the time next season kicks off. If he stays at Spurs his career will be on a downward trajectory, they have no European football next season so he'd be 31 by the time he was playing in Europe again if they even managed to qualify. He got 30 goals, he won't beat that at Spurs, imagine getting 30 goals and you can't even get into Europe, it's a shambles and he needs to get out. Spurs will struggle to attract top players with no European football and a relatively unknown manager.

Spurs should cash in, let Levy work his magic and get a big fee out of RM again, the next season is a write-off anyway so there's no point keeping him around and then losing him on a free.

He isn't the type, but he could half ass next season to ensure he doesnt get injured then take up whatever opportunity in the Prem he feels like.

Hell, it would be hilarious if he joined Arsenal just to **** of Levy...

I've been a Spurs fan since the early 70's. I chose to follow them because I went to a shop with a friend to buy a penknife with my birthday money. I couldn't decide between a Spurs and a Man Utd one and he convinced me to buy the Spurs one as he thought it it looked the nicest... What I wouldn't give for a Time Machine...

I can remember from the relegation season of 1977 onwards. We've always been Spursy and the only period of sustained success we enjoyed in my time was in the 80's under Keith Burkenshaw when we won 2 FA and 1 UEFA cups.

I don't think it matters who the next manager is because there are too many problems to overcome in a short period of time.

The first is Daniel Levi himself. After all, he is the Chairman who undermined and stabbed Martin Jol in the back when he was doing well, got rid of Harry Rednapp when he was on the crest of a wave, didn't listen to Poch when he said a 'painful rebuild' was needed, appointed two unsuitable cheque book managers in Mourinho and Conte, and sacked the former a week before a final. So, no matter how well Postecoglou does it's a sure bet that Levi will sack him...

There is also something wrong with the 'soul' or 'heart' of the Club/playing staff. Lets not forgot this lot stopped playing for Poch and contributed to his sacking, and after bright starts for Jose, Nunes and Conte they stopped playing for them as well!

Current first Team Squad - simply not good enough! The table and stats don't lie, we finished 8th and conceded 63 goals!

Lack of homegrown players? For a club that is supposed to have some of the very best training facilities why are we not producing more talented prospects?

Transfers. Money has been spent but whoever checks out these player's has a remarkable record of getting it wrong!

Harry Kane. In my opinion he is undoubtedly the best player I've ever seen in a Spurs shirt and probably our best ever player. But we are over reliant on him and without his goals we'd be in an even worse state. However, he can't go on forever, and at some point he'll either join another Club or retire - what are we going to do then...

And the biggest problem of all - the opposition! Next season I think City will win the league leaving 5 Teams - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and United to fight it out for the 3 remaining CL places.

The best I think we can hope for next season is to play decent football and finish 7th at best...

The joys of being a Spurs fan...

My father was born and bred seven sisters (What a hole that has become). Saw them do the league and cup double in 61. Would rave on about Ricky Villa's goal being the best ever. He never put me on the path to be a Spurs fan so ended up supporting Man United as kid. First game I ever saw was Spurs vs United and after that it was United for me.

Rodgers also won the FA Cup with Leicester :p

Ironically, the public slagging off the players after the FA Cup loss the following season was the beginning of the end for us.

Scott Parker looks favourite for the Leicester job, not my choice tbh.

Rumours of Scott Parker for Leicester which I think would be a good appointment. He has done it twice already in the Championship and would be interesting to see him with a bigger team that might actually be able to back him with transfers going forward.
Got Fulham promoted, then relegated. Might be ok for the Championship, but that is about it.

The main thing is getting out of the Championship. I think that is harder than staying in the Prem for a team the size of Leicester City. If they were quicker sacking Rodgers they would have never been in this situation.
