The opening song is one of the reasons I first got disk 1, it had caught my attention and made me smile on a lot of previews ;)

re the monsterss, I guess giant lizards and gorillas don't really have much excitement or challange for the character designers (especially after 50 years of Godzilla movies :p)

YAY :D

Just when I thought I was going to have to stop buying anime I win some money.

Just ordered:
Wolf's Rain
Trigun
Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU
Gravion Zwei
Rune Soldier

I'm thinking of getting:
Infinite Ryvius
Gungrave
Kiddy Grade
Last Exile
Elfen Lied
Angelic Layer
Steel Angel Kurumi
Outlaw Star

are they any good?

Elfen lied rocks the hizouse, definatley one of my top 5 anime's along with the likes of Eva and samurai champloo!
Steal angel Kurumi is OK a bit like mahoromatic worth a look
Outlaw star is also worth a look, Kiddy grade is a deffo as well its superb and I'm hearing good things about last exile. not too sure about the others though :)

Last Exile = Great.

I got the R1 releases as they came out (and got lucky in each case with the Geonom lottery*), and it's a good story with some great characters, some really nice music (very fitting for the series), and some stuning visuals at times.

Kurumi is ok, pretty funny at times (especially Saki/Kirinka and the spies), although i'm not sure about it's rewatch value (I haven't rewatched my disks in a couple of years).

Outlaw Star is fun, nothing hugely special but fun with some nice characters and a good helping of humour.

Kiddy Grade is a pretty fun series, some nice characters and a fairly good story.

Elfen Lied is hard to describe, it's got some very cute/nice character designs, pretty good story, but is very gory and pretty gut wrenching at times (I think that's the right term for it).

Angelic Layer is fairly childish I think (definately aimed at kids:p), but was oddly enjoyable when I watched it (I got the thinpack set).

*Geonom often had/have a thing where the first run of a new release has extra's packed into the first X Disks - with Last exile the extra's included postcards (set of 11 I think with vol 7), paper models etc, with other release the extra's might be coins, pencil boards etc.

I'm going to echo what Fieldy said...

Elfen Lied ROCKS!!!!!

I'm just waiting on Vectors 3 & 4 arriving from Pacific but the 1st 2 are amazingly good.
Although as Werewolf said at times the story can be a bit hard hitting...especially how they portray it IMO

Gungrave also seems ok, I've only wathced the first volumes (It came in one of the Boxsets the Works were selling around christmas) I think it might be to early to judge it properly but it didnt seem to bad.

Bit of a long shot but anyone know any sites that have Hack Sign quotes on them?
Trying to find a line from the first episode about being a loser online as well as in real life.

Unfortunately it only has one Hack Sign quote & it's not the one your looking for but I did find this funky little site which is pretty good for Quotes & the like...

Anime Lives

Thanks anyway :)
Just after it for my dissertation, it's not vital but it'd be handy :D Might just watch the episode again and write it down fast.

Because that'd be far too simple for me to think of :o
I'll try that thanks :)

LOL :D
No worries

Just an update...Elfen Lied Vectors 3 & 4 have shipped today, cant wait to see them.

Also has anyone considered adding Naruto to their collections seeing as the first volume is now officially available?
I'm thinking about because I really want to see what all the fuss is about.

Sweet :D
My pre-orders for Whisper of the Heart, My Neighbours the Yamada's and Fullmetal Alchemist Vol 6 LE with tin (it was a pound cheaper than the normal version??? ) arrived :)

I guess i'll be having a good evening in front of the TV tonight;), the question is, do I watch Whisper or FMA first?

after reading the reccomendations for ghibli films here these last few months thought it was about time i got around to buying some got `kotoro, whisper of the heart and the first vol of dears` winging their way from dvd boxoffice right now
well i have `tried` these and liked them so was overdue for actually buying them :o

I managed to pick up all of Serial Experiments Lain for £40. Just finished watching it and all i can think is "Ouch... my brain". :p

Is a nice anime but i think you reallly need to watch it more then a few times to understand just whats going on.

Does anyone have any opinions on Samurai 7? It looks interesting. Also whats special about the FMA tin?

Ended up ordering:
Elfen Lied
Infinite Ryvius
Blue Seed
Kiddy Grade
Last Exile
Neo Ranga
Steel Angel Kurumi
Outlaw Star

I think that should last me for a few weeks :D

Is Samurai Champloo that good? The hip hop samurai idea sounds a bit dodgy to me but it looks popular. It's just been announced there's a box set out in July so I might add it to my list.

Loopstah ya goin mental with the DVD ordering eh :p

Samurai champloo...

I thought Hmm at first but after watching a coupla eps its spot on, it works really well and is a highly addictive series. that much so I watched the first half of the series in one sitting ! Hehehe

Not having enough time to watch all the time at the minute but when I do its a marathon ;)

Werewolf, how much was the FMP6 ? Also where from ?

Completely forgot about that.

Long shot here....

Anyone got a double of the UK exclusive GITS SAC a website (cant remember which) had recently ? missed that too :(

Last thing I watched was voices of a distant star....

Watched each version about 4/5 times now hehe

For such a short feature it absolutely packs it in, Highly enjoyable and get me going back again and again.

Had to go and watch the place promised in our early years too, I think this studio is one to keep an eye on if they produce any more. Again an amazing feature and the animation was rather nice. Soundtracks on both I loved, I think one of them is on its way to me now :)

Got golgo13 Queen bee here to watch as well, bought it off the MM a while back and not had a chance to watch it (was it any of you I bought it off?) Ive forgotten who and need to update their trust.

I thought the first golgo was great and am looking forwards to this.

I'm ashamed to admit I love Dragonball Z. :o

I actually watched it for 2 days straight when Toonami ran the whole series over a weekend once.

Why ashamed???

I will freely admit to anyone who will listen that I love DBZ it's probably my most watched Anime EVER (Apart from Transformers obviously :D)

I think its great simple as that :D
