The AMD Driver Thread

I think pcgamer said in synthetic benchies it seems rt is improved but in actual games it isnt, so careful getting hope up with 3dmark improvements, but no actual game improvements for rt.
I can confirm I gained one big fat frame per second of performance in Forza Horizon 5 @ 2160p with Extreme/Ultra everything and no FSR with the latest driver. A whole frame!!! I'm giddy...

Getting around 14fps increase in game on Shadow of the tomb raider(from 46fps to 60),but it can drop to the 40s in demanding areas

I've yet to try Cyberfunk 2069 with the new drivers but I forgot to run the bench with RT prior to installing the new drivers so I cannot be are said. I'm sure the extra frame will make a huge difference!

from the site, id never trust their delivery system through software.

Yeah whenever I upgrade driver through Adrenaline my card runs max clocks constantly after the initial reboot. Download from site and install manually they my card download as it should. Did it with numerous installed version through Adrenaline so I don't take the risk anymore.

Done a windows install yesterday on a brand new build, downloaded all the updates for it, restarted it, then installed the Radeon latest driver (note amd was auto selecting build 22 as recommended and build 23 as optional) I chose the build 23 as it was the latest version and it killed the windows operating system leaving me with bsod upon startup. So had to re-install windows again. And go through the whole rigmarole of updating drivers.

I ended up installing build 22, and now the amd software is advising I get version 23.

I'm reticent to upgrade to the 23 driver as I just can't be bothered to re-install everything again.

Having this strange issue with the past few drivers, when ever i right click on the desktop it crashes adrenaline.
your one of the lucky ones and it hasnt bricked your install yet:

id say intel drivers have already surpassed AMD's. With intel worst situation is you just need to reboot after an install.

Same here the 23.2.1 drivers have been fine. The only one's I had issues with, were the 23.1.2 beta drivers.

I've only had to disable MPO, rather than disable GPU hardware acceleration in Edge, as that was causing hard lock ups.

Is updating to the new driver a must?

Having it brick windows once I can't be bothered for it to do it again.

P.s mine was clean install on everything fresh build.

There's not really anything majorly important in it, maybe slight performance improvement for games released since the last main driver.
