The AMD Driver Thread

Could be the same root cause, windowed apps that use a certain way to render. The fix in a few browsers is to downgrade the version of DirectX used. But it's also not just browser's that are affected. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Anyone having a weird issue with mouse pointers within game menus? I thought it was black mesa (being an old game). After launching as soon as I click something in the menu, the pointer disappears. If I alt+tab out and back in, it reappears. I picked up Battletech (the Mechwarrior game) again the other day and had the exact same issue. Haven't tried a third game. Only thing that has changed recently are, latest Windows updates, the AMD drivers, and also, I've installed the latest Razer software (v4.x). Mouse pointer in Windows 11 is fine though. Cheers.

ive had a dissapearing mouse pointer in most things not particularly games but in browser in windows explorer it sometimes vanishes when its above an icon [so you see it in between the icons lol like some weird hide behind the icon trick or something very clever camoflage or something lol]
more of a mildly amusing slight annoyance than anything though

That is weird. :) I've not had anything like that. Yet. lol. Also, thought I'd ask CoPilot for some info. It said "Check for conflicting software, recent installations such as Razer software...blah blah blah". I thought "ooh this might be a known bug". It linked me to my own post just now. Not helpful CoPilot! lol.

ahhhhh yes thats like a modernised version of the classic back whenever i had any issues googling it and finding only my own post about the issue lol
i seem to also have the same with my weird psychedelic hdmi issues atm google seems to only find my post about it lol

So I did some googling and one "fix" was to set windows mouse pointer to black. And that appears to have sorted it. Weird!

Yep, been there. Always a great one when absolutely no-one else has the same issue.
No-one seems to have the 909Mhz VRAM issue I have on the 9070 XT. Just gets stuck at 909Mhz and won't lower unless I set my refresh to 60hz.

Mine runs at well above 2000mhz at 70 degrees as I run three screens at all different hz. I will change my two other screens to run on the igpu but as I am running a 9800x3d on an asrock board I don't want to rock the boat until we have a reason for the dying CPUs.

Regarding these issues with freesync and browsers and other web based apps, I don't believe it's the browsers or apps fault. If I switch Freesync off or on in the driver my screen goes black and then comes back on. This never happened on my 6950XT and it would just be off or on with no drama. So at least with my specific combo of an Asus Prime 9070 OC and my Samsung G8 OLED 3440x1440 monitor(which was also the monitor I used with my 6950XT) something isn't working as intended, at least not in my book. When switching to an APP like discord or spotify freesync shouldn't be active on that app and is switched off automatically causing the undesired behaviour of black screen for quick sec but because something else with freesync is not working as it should, with the app in focus, it continues, on and off, on and off, as if freesync is continuesly being cycled.

Normally I would have a look at windows, cause windows have been the problem before back in the day with both gsync and freesync due to certain updates. However, I have the same behaviour on Arch Linux sooo I'm slightly worried that it could be hardware that's the issue?
