The AMD Driver Thread

This might be a stupid question..
If I have a 7800XT and swap it with a 9070XT.. Do I have to do anything before or after doing so?

Download the 9070 XT drivers and save them on the desctop.

Run the AMD Cleanup Utility https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/GPU-601.html It will ask you to reboot its self in to safe mode, once done power off the PC, turn off or unplug the PSU and wait a couple of minutes for the caps to drain, remove the 7800XT, install the 9070 XT, power the PC on and install the 9070 XT drivers you saved.

These days it'll be Windows that screws you up before any GPU drivers.. from 3060Ti to 9070 I uninstalled Nvidia drivers and deleted all their folders etc, swapped cards and installed AMD drivers.

@AMD_Vik Looks like the Second Life flickering bug is mostly fixed in the latest driver though I see somebody on Github still saying they still have it but its reduced a fair bit, oh and another person sold their 9070XT and switched to Nvidia because of this bug  For me, on first install it seemed fixed but the Adrenalin software wouldnt show up even though I could see the Adrenalin taskbar icon, reinstalled them again checking Factory Reset and all was well after that :) At least I'm off 25.9.1 drivers now :D cheers.

One unexpected positive is it seems like DayZ plays smoothly in Borderless Fullscreen mode now as before it was quite stuttery so a nice surprise there :)

"Users may experience intermittent loss of mouse and keyboard functionality both in-game and on the desktop when interacting with AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition."

@AMD_Vik I'm getting an issue very similar to this but I'm not actively using the driver software at the time (I mean it's running but I don't have adrenaline open), could this be related or is this a very specific bug where you have to have the adrenaline user interface open? Not quite sure how broad the term "interacting with" is in this context.
