The AMD Driver Thread

Guess for FC4, will just run lower settings and use vs and tb. If that still not smooth enough, will just abandon it.

But first I guess I should finish Advanced Warfare. I know I need to disable crossfire for that.

Elite.... well, yeah, i will hope.

Might go back to a run through of Inquisition after that - the only other game besides BF4 that runs better on the 290x's than sli 970's.

Its about time that Elite-D out some love as i may be getting that soon :D

And that's why the lack of Profiles for those games have not bothered me in the slightest as im not buying them at anytime.

The only recent game i can think of is maybe Dying light if and option to turn off chromatic aberration gets added at some point.

After putting up with it in payday 2 and i still need to get my moneys worth out of that game im in no hurry to go through with it with another game.

Dying Light is a little bonky especially in SLI/Crossfire with the settings cranked up.

I actually played (roughly 10 hours of it I think) on a single GPU (GTX970) at 1440p (not my native 4K) with most of the settings cranked to the lowest possible.

I would have put in quite a few hours more but I had to take frequent breaks every 15-20 minutes for some odd reason (eye pain - headaches) . This hasn't happened to me on other games and I'm not sure what the reason is.

Other than that the only thing I found to be somewhat of a problem is, while using multithreading and multiple cores well you need good single core performance. (OCing your CPU will help in this one)

Why disable crossfire ? Not working for you or some other reason ?

I put in 30 hours with 2xR9-290s with not many problems other then stinky p2p lag (if your talking about MP).

Try alt+tabbing in and out on the loading screen prior to the game it helped me a little.

BTW what res you running eyetrip ?

Chromatic aberration is very likely the reason why, it hurts my eyes too.

Not a fan of that effect at all and wish you could disable it.

Even turning it off using The Dying Light manager mod tool does not properly get rid of it.

Look at the far left and shelters on the top from Dying Light , movement makes it more visible (something like motion blur)

Final8y and AMDMatt I had no idea about this !

No wonder :(

What really bothers me is there are many effects that i dont like, purely preference which i can turn off, but the one that i dont like and that actually hurts me i can not in an increasing amount of games with a few exceptions like Alien: Isolation which it can be turned off, Oh that's GE title ain't it,,, save you the plug.

Alien Isolation is a shining example of how you optimise a game to run perfectly on all hardware. Was a pleasure to play that game and did not encounter any issues on day 1.

Scary as hell! :D
