The AMD Driver Thread

So Matt do we have ETAish on April's drivers....*btw I find it extremely ironic people bitching about AMD driver release. When they were on an one month release; people bitched about drivers being incomplete; so when they slowed down to release more complete driver sets; people bitch they aren't getting drivers released more*

Should they release more betas yea....

15.4's WHQL's out now.... with Dying Light support inclusive of patch... I believe there's a 25% fps improvement in Crysis and 50% improvement in Far Cry... and PacMan runs like a dream for me now... and Kelly Brook has just left my house after the most passionate night of her life, she could barely walk...

Damn..I just saw the first sentence and actually went to check on the AMD site for these. :(
Too early in the day for me..lol

We can't win either way. :p

Good news though, we're seeing new record lows of bug reports with 14.12/15.3 drivers.

No set date for the April drivers. When they're ready. :)

As I've said hundreds of times, drivers will be once a month like they've always been, or thereabouts.

That's because nothing has changed for there to be new bugs...

:D

Just kidding. Couldn't help myself :)

@Matt - Can you do me a favour matey, ever since I've had the 295x2 and 290x, MANTLE in BF4 is up the swanny... low fps... I've always used Mantle since my 7990's and it was always considerably quicker than DX11... perfect infact. However now I can barely run... if I disable Crossfire and run the single 295x2 it's horrid performance and enabling the 290x only makes it worse... yet DX is spot on. What's happened with Mantle lately? Are you getting this on your system? This was with 14.12 and the new 15.3's as well... Mantle now is running like poo.

This is at 5670x1080 ULTRA and 4xMSSA... I'm in DX11 and it's around 65-110fps... in Mantle it's topping out around 60fps and drops into 30's... and this si a fresh rebuild of machine as well.

I believe since the snow expansion something has changed with mantle, AMD have reported this and should be fixed within a future patch

Have you got any overlays running, like the origin overlay, the AMD Gaming Evolved overlay (Raptr APP) etc? If so try disabling them. Mantle works perfectly on 1>2>3 gpu for me.

Ok, just diabled RAPTR and that's given me more, minimum is still **** poor in the 40's... but now when I look at the sky it jumps to 130fps+ etc... so it's deffo helped. Not sure if I have the origin overlay, not sure what that is mate

EDIT: Just uninstalled RAPTr etc... running a lot better but deffo slower than DX11.... which is a shame... just testing between the two now...

EDIT 2: Ok, basically I'm getting 100% quicker performance in DX11 than in Mantle YET when I used to have the 7990's, they demolished DX11... such a shame... in DX11 I'm getting 100+fps on the map I'm on now... never drops below 70fps in the most taxing bits... for example this exact spot in Mantle is giving 54fps... in DX11 116fps... when running from spawn you can see in general DX11 is around 2x quicker... not sure why though... nothing now running in background... even turned off Afterburner just in case this was causing issue.

@thebennyboy Probably not the same issue, but this is my experience with cards not adopting overclocked speeds:

I have 2x HD7850 in crossfire. Card one is 860/1200 stock. Card 2 is 900/1200 stock. I've used amd overdrive to bump the first card to match the second at 900/1200 (probably pointless, I know).

However, I've noticed that if I have anything which uses video decoding open while playing a game (youtube for example), card 1 runs at 860/1200 while card 2 runs at 900/1200. Closing these applications allows card 1 to reach 900/1200. At least it was like this last time I checked.

Matt, please do get them looking at displayport link failures with displayport 1.2

Currently using one of the philips 40 inchers, and it's getting a bit annoying.

I'm going to be adding a 2nd 290 Tri-X tomorrow as an early birthday present.

Is there anything specific I should have set / change in Afterburner before I fit the 2nd card & update the drivers?

It's been that long since I ran crossfire I've not kept up with its workarounds.
