The AMD Driver Thread

So, more AMD fail?

I have the game, but didn't bother downloading it yet. I figured I would likely not have crossfire support and thought would see how it ran generally first.

They did a good job slowly turning around people's perception of their driver support, but I think they have undone all that this year...

It runs fine on ultra with vsr 2560x1600.
35-50 fps range on stock clocks.

Apparently not working, there hopefully gonna release a driver this week. Wouldn't hold my breath tho. I'm wondering if the drivers posted earlier will make a difference on the Witcher.

Oh ok, not been around the forums much lately so i'm not up to date with stuff around here, still waiting for 390 info and prices etc. Current 15.4 driver is working fine on my 7950 but lack of drivers in recent months makes me wonder what AMD are doing, did they replace the driver team with the DayZ Dev team? :p

There has been no lack of drivers in the last few months. We have had 15.3 and 15.4 in the last few months which is about right. The wait was between December and march but things seem to be back on track as far as the release schedule goes. A few games need some more support but the last 2 drivers have been good for what i play.

guys, I know we haven't a driver yet, typically because AMD don't give a toss anymore it would seem, but have any of you tried running Witcher 3 with Crossfire? I'm getting horrible flickering textures in the distance. Are you all with crossfire having the same issue?

Yes, very much so. I also have an issue where gpu1 on my 7990 is running at 501mhz only. I had a similar problem with GTA 5, but found closing Google Chrome solved that. However it's not open now and it still does it. It means that instead of getting a measly 35-40 fps at 1080p with medium/high settings, I now get 20-30 with it mostly being mid 20's.

I find it very hard to believe that suddenly my 7990 get's completely usurped by a single 290x, but my mate is getting 70-80 fps with similar settings.

I don't even think a driver is going to fix my issue. I can't believe that a driver will net me the gains I need to run this to a satisfactory standard. All I can do is wait for the new cards to be released.

Ummm, wasn't there almost nothing worth waiting for in those drivers?

Unless you bought into freesync or play GTA V, I think they have been rather fruitless.

Have you looked at the release notes for the "recent" drivers? lacking.
