True, but if (as per the last big driver release) the rep is being told one thing, conveys it to his customers, and then the driver team throws him under the bus because they can't get things out when promised, and it just ends up making customers frustrated and angry, then it's better Matt says nothing instead of making things worse.
Yeah if hed posted now with no info on the driver, now that the Witcher 3 is out, this thread would just be page after page after page of everyone having a go at him.

Any information is better than no information though. Even if he's telling us it's delayed. Being representative means he will inevitably take the backlash from it, but that's his job. Reassuring us customers is what he should be doing.
