So im running Windows 10 now, as you do
Using drivers 15.7 im getting horrendous framerates in GTAV, anyone else come across this?
Everything else is running al-right 3DMark show shows scores consistent with Windows 8.1
I get really bad framerate with gta v on my 7990, I'm still on the insider build and if i turn the grass to the lowest setting and change Vsync to half it helps a bit.
My GTA5 was running rubbish on the 15.7s from the AMD site.
A driver update through Windows 10 fixed it.
The driver "update" via win10 actually rolled back to an older driver AFAIK.
Nothing major, I'm getting decent performance at the moment, though there is definitely room for improvement driver wise. I had to disable quite a few graphics options to get a stable fps during combat etc.
NVIDIA have begun optimizing drivers for this popular game, so I was interested in AMD were following suit![]()
TBH I've always found GTA V to stutter and perform terribly online but offline it has always played rather well. Got a problem with my card now where when I log onto windows I get a black screen on the desktop screen but rebooting fixes it, thought it was a driver issue so uninstalled and reinstalled them but still it happens although less frequently. Have had issues for the past 6-9 months with it black screening when monitor goes to sleep.
I can't RMA the card really either because it is second hand and changed the cooler, maybe if I need to I can talk to the seller. I've had the card myself for 15 months though.
hmmm......is it oc? if it is see if you roll back the oc and see if it still does it. If it does; most likely means you need a little more volts for the OC![]()

Use the driver through Windows update - fixed it for me!
Nah completely stock already thought of that. If I could stop it from going to 2D clocks and force constant voltage I think that might fix it because if seems to me that it hates downclocking. Have tried overclocking it but the core isn't very decent 1030mhz is the max it'll do really for 100% stability.
its also still early access game - few I've talked with with 290s said they were getting 70s with everything high......I don't have it yet; friends keep pestering me.
I mean its not like I'm doing videos for Witcher 3; Victor Vran; Hex Beta; Pillars; ESO; TOR; Hearthstone; Ronin etc![]()
