The AMD Driver Thread

So far everything has been running great on Win 10 for me, I've had a little go with about ten games and there all fine here with 15.7.1. Furthermore, Ever since moving from Win 7 to Win 8.1 the Deadpool game has refused to work. It's now working again on Win 10 and running smoothly on AMD which is great news.

VCE works fine as you can still record and stream gameplay with Raptr, Mirillis Action, PlaysTv etc.

Thanks Matt, not sure why Raptr didnt record anything earlier but it worked when I tried again. I guess there's some incompatibility with the vce build of OBS and Windows 10 as installing AVT didn't fix that either, something they'll have to fix.

Any ideas why Skype in Windows 10 is detected as an application which needs the second GPU running (wakes from ULPS)? Gaming Evolved has been doing the same for a while (including in Windows 8.1) but I just close that when I'm not recording anything, can't really do the same for Skype if I want to talk to people!

I tried making a profile for Skype and setting crossfire to "Disabled" but it had no effect. Not a massive problem, and an idle 7850 doesn't generate much heat anyway, mainly just asking out of curiosity.

4.9 is in Alpha preview, you're supposed to report bugs here too :)

Thanks, I'll take a look. I'm sure it will be fixed in time, it is only alpha after all.

Using Windows 10 with Catalyst 15.7.1

Since upgrading yesterday I've noticed the following issues using 2x HD7850:

-VCE no longer works. The VCE version of OBS crashes when selecting the "Encoding" menu where you choose the encoding method. The Gaming Evolved client will not record any gameplay.

Did u get the latest version of OBS here?

https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-branch-with-amd-vce-support.13996/

Troubleshooting:

Since OVE no longer works with 15.7 AMD drivers, make sure that only AMF is checked from the encoder tab of OBS. unchecking both can cause "Failed to Initialize"

If Multiple GPUs, select the proper AMD GPU in the video tab. Note that switchable graphics (Intel+AMD) does not work with OBS, this is something with the design of switchable graphics that is flawed.

I'll test this with my 7950 tomorrow.

guys, getting this issue on GTA V running on Windows 10. Using Crossfire 390's and 15.7.1 driver. I thought it might have been an issue with Sweetfx I was running, but deleted all the files and ran as normal, but error was still happening after 10-20 minutes of gaming. Another thing I noticed, at times the screen would flicker like crazy, but alt+enter to go windowed then alt+enter again to go back to full screen would fix it.

Anyway, here's the error, what you think? driver issue? seems I'm not the only one, 2k plus other ppl with the same issue. http://steamcommunity.com/app/271590/discussions/0/611703709830303956/

I had the same error message once yesterday Tony and i was playing GTA V all day. I had my GPU's overclocked at the time so put it down to that, but perhaps there is a bug either with the game or the drivers. Edging towards a game issue as it seems to affect both sides according to your link.

Guess I'll be spending my Sunday trying to figure out what it is. some guys in gtav thread been getting it as well. They pointed towards running game exe as admin and not using msi AB.

Was going through my c drive manually removing a load of crap and came across this:

Now I have ran DDU numerous times, however, all of that still remains.... I thought DDU was suppose to remove anything and everything related to AMD/nvidia?

That's normal.. When you download the driver file, and run it. It will uncompress the file into a new folder and run from there.

Think of it like a zip file or 7zip file.

Ah yeah I know that and I have also deleted it :p I just thought DDU was suppose to remove everything related to AMD drivers even those temp files?

Too anyone getting a black screen problem on r9 290 or r9 290x here is what fixed mine.

I was using a splitter for the 2 power plugs into the gfx card (r9 290). So I changed this and used another from the PSU for the 6 pin one so each power port on the card has its own dedicated PSU lead. This fixes it - it has something to do with the splitter not being able to draw enough power.

DDU removes the stuff that's been installed into the OS, not the unpacked installation files.

Folders in C: AMD are only deleted if you select that option in advanced DDU settings. ;)

Seems like my HTPC won't be making the move to Windows 10 - seems AMD doesn't have drivers for the Llano A8-3850 APU :(

Is anyone on Windows 10, with the latest AMD Driver with an R9 290X? If so, can anyone confirm if Total Media Theatre 6 or PowerDVD 15 will work?

I've just done a fresh install of W10, I've had to run the Omega Drivers from 2014 on my Windows 10 install to get Total Media Theatre 6 and PowerDVD 15 to work :p

PowerDVD 15 works on Windows 10 with the latest drivers, but the performance is unusable.
TMT6 just doesn't run.

None of the issues exist on my Omega install on Windows 10.
Not really willing to pay for DVDpasskey and use VLC either.

EDIT : After trawling the Cyberlink forums, PowerDVD 15 can be fixed (And has been) by disabling the Video enhancements. It's still an AMD Driver issue, but still, least there's a fix.

So far can't fix TMT6 (The only Blu-ray player on the market that'll just stretch for 21:9 correctly without using hacks etc)
