The AMD Driver Thread

Check . Net 3.5 also if this isn't the case then am not sure what's happening here.
I just ran the AMD 15.8 installer again but did a custom install and only selected CCC and it installed fine and is working now, so will just need to do two step installs. Hopefully it will just install for the 15.9's.

There is a MadMax profile in there.

Guys can someone try something please on the new drivers with crossfire.

Can you run MSI Afterburner, with Frame pacing enabled in CCC and tell me what your core clocks do when gaming?

Mine never ever stay at 1100MHz, the memory always sticks to where I have it set, but the core goes up and down like a whores drawers. Oddly though, when I turned frame pacing off (just messing around) my core stayed solid at 1100MHz which is where it's clocked to.

thanks

I can't understand why my core clocks area all over the place, It's doing my nut in. Why aren't they just staying at 1100Mhz on the damn core :mad: my memory doesn't budge, it's just the core.

Are you hitting your frame rate cap? My core clock will jump all over the place on some games but these games I hit my frame cap.
On more demanding games I will have my core locked at what I set.

yeah was capping at 120fps mate, I didn't think the cores would drop too 900 and something though, that's crazy lol.

And side note, Matt, Joe any other AMD people, the 15.8 driver is gash on Windows 10 and Witcher 3. Just look at the horrendous frametimes, so much stutter, like every 5 seconds the game hitches and lags. Tried everything, even turning every graphic setting to low to test. This was with game frame capped to 60fps.

Can't speak for Witcher 3 but I can for the core changing..

With ulps enabled and think it's called zero core AMDs power saving features. The core changes based on GPU load etc if say a game is capped at 120fps in your case and your GPUs only needed 900 core clock to reach that then core will run at that.

If you was to uncapped the frame rate you will see that core will run full whack and the GPUs will be trying to match the maximum frame rate.

This isn't a bad thing because it saves power etc but letting the GPUs work less when not full stressed.

Can't believe how well MGS runs fully maxed out at 1440p I was expecting a FuryX but am locked at 60fps. Game doesn't seem that demanding at all. Not the greatest looking game by any means though, long distance compute graphics show in this!

Really can't wait for the day gaming sort this out.

That's why it runs so well. It's also a console title so maybe they've decided to only really give us improvements on the resolution and fps side of things rather than visually demanding extra's that from what I see don't really offer that much more but do drag our performance into the pits. Let's face it games on the consoles do look pretty good so it's only really the res and better fps that's needed nowadays. Although having said that I gotta agree that pic could look better.
