Wrong the frame rate is indeed unlocked but the refresh rate is locked at 60hz its talked to death over on the official forums and if you must check what your display is outputting.

I do, I hit the little refresh rate button on my swift and can force 120 and 144hz, also if I set 'max available refresh' in nvcp my monitor reports a 144hz output. And I can certainly tell when fifa is running 60hz not 120/144.

Then you need to tell the world from your one of a kind setup because everyone on the Fifa forums are reporting the same has 15 the game outputs 60hz even with no fps limit enabled.

Unwinder is getting a nano so hopefully won't be too much longer now. No news on Trixxx sadly so MSI Afterburner might be the first tool available with voltage control for the Fury line-up.

Monitor osd showing refresh + afterburner showing frame rate enough?

Besides if it was locked to 60hz and I was running 120+ fps I would notice the screen tearing and gsync wouldn't be doing it's job

I'll show you now what is happening and what is reported by loads people. if this is a demo bug or not I not sure I didn't buy Fifa 15 on PC for this reason so not sure if full game fixed it I doubt it.

If I run the game in Window mode then both the display and BenQ software report 144hz.. but I not sure if the game is running 144hz and the BenQ software just reporting desktop.

Is there a way to unlock the Hz cap on Crysis or were you talking of FIFA ?

Thats the question we all asking on the forums. Fifa 14 allowed this but since they ported the console engine to the PC version they seem to have forgotten about refresh rate and locked it at 60hz. People believe this is because of the games animations but am not sure isn't frame rate tied to these and not refresh rate.

I'll double check it when I get in, my frame rates wouldn't go above 60fps if it was 60hz forced as gsync wouldn't allow it, yet the game caps at my forced refresh rates 120/144 Hz/fps

Yes, this is because you have an nVidia card and the drivers override and force 144hz.

That's what I want AMD drivers to do

Not what am reading around the Web though.. Not even a single guide showing this the case for fifa 15 let alone 16.

Can you run at 1440p. Like I said mine also shows 144hz and even if I don't cap the frame rate it will go 144fps but my BenQ software is reporting the game is outputting 60hz so either my display is wrong or the software is reporting wrong.

Drop box, the output display is still 1440p regardless of DSR level used, its just compressing one resolution into another the output doesn't change

Its only set on DSR as Fifa games are weak on the GPU and have the headroom to drive quite silly resolutions.

Am not sure then something on my end is reporting wrong and I believe it's the display because it never changes for me. Only the software changes.

You 100% sure its running 144hz? because I am very sure it isn't you know.

I think it all boils down to drivers and whats possible on that end when it comes to Fifa games, its not like they have a great deal of options to play with as it is:

AUDIO_MIX_MODE = 0
CONTROLLER_DEFAULT = 0
DISABLE_WINDAERO = 0
FULLSCREEN = 1
MSAA_LEVEL = 4
RENDERINGQUALITY = 3
RESOLUTIONHEIGHT = 2880
RESOLUTIONWIDTH = 5120
VOICECHAT = 0
WAITFORVSYNC = 0

Can a radeonpro profile not be created to force the higher refresh? Failing that does your monitor have a 'refresh OC' button or something on it? As with any game I can just hit this button and force a higher refresh, if the game is locked it will stay at 60fps but output at 144hz

Might be worth giving matt/joe a nudge and see if a force maximum refresh rate option can be added as I can also just select this and the driver will automatically force 144hz:

I'd actually be interested to see if the dominator freesync monitors have this refresh OC button (presume they do?) and if it acts the same as its gsync counterpart

As I said earlier, the game is reporting over 60fps, gsync is enabled, the refresh is above 60hz.

Like I said though my display is showing all the same information that the game is running 144hz

But if I alt-tab out the game and look at the software I see that its running 60hz for a second then it will change to 144hz. 144hz shows all the time if the game is running in window mode.

Without some software reporting it for you I believe you not fully aware the game is indeed 60hz

Last Fifa that RP worked on was Fifa 14 before they updated to the new engine. Since then its been very well documented around the internet that fifa 15 and 15 is locked at 60hz.. This isn't just me reporting it mate.

I see your angle, but listen to me.

GSync would NOT let the frame rate go above 60fps if the game was locking at 60hz and overriding what I'm setting. Gsync IS enabled and the frame rate IS above 60fps thus the refresh IS at 144hz, as if I drop DSR it sits at a steady 143 FPS, which is the frame number GSync auto-caps at on a 144hz refresh.

IF I launch the game without adjusting the driver or playing with the refresh OC button on the monitor it auto launches at 60hz, it feels noticeably sluggish until I switch it to 120/144hz, which I can do in real time with said button.

Ok fair enough.. Don't get me wrong the game feels great on what ever its running at. Am just not sure if its 144hz though.
