The AMD Driver Thread

FO4 runs great here on just one of my 290's. I have it oc'd a good bit but everything turned up and only god rays turned down (not off). Capped at 60fps 1080p windowed no dips that I've noticed yet. Loving it!

Would really love some xfire though so I can go 4k damnit! :D

R9 290X, 1080p, god rays off, everything else in ultra in windowed mode borderless. Works fine for me. Using latest beta drivers as well.

I am hoping that our driver team releases an updated driver though! (No I haven't heard anything about that yet)

For the best CrossFire scaling:

-> Crysis 3 profile
-> Disable volumetric lightning and God Rays in the settings menu and the .ini files. CrossFire doesn't like these (gameworks) features at all. The best you can get with these features enabled is a 60/60 scaling.
-> Do not enable TAA. The scaling will still be a lot better, but i has a huge performance impact in CrossFire mode and you will have a lot of stutter.
-> Ambient occlusion will still be buged, so you can either disable it or lower the "fSAORadius" radius in the fallout4.ini files to make it less noticable. This will also reduce the quality of AO. So if you want to play the game with the best AO quality, you need to wait for a official CrossFire profile.

This should give you a much better scaling. However, it isn't perfect and the game might sometimes stutter.

EDIT: ARF-friendly mode gives the best scaling. In fact it is a perfect scaling. However, the game gets very very bright. You can somehow counter this effect by drastically lowering the windows gamma values. In ARF friendly mode, Gameworks features are working just fine. No effect on the scaling what so ever. TAA isn't working well, it makes the image brighter as soon as you are moving. AO also isn't working.

Hi AMDMatt,

Can you get some traction on this problem " Horizontal flickering and image tearing in 2D (3 screens, R9 290x), 15.7 and up "

https://community.amd.com/thread/185472

I currently run 3 x Dell 2407FPWs on my 290x with 2 x DVI and 1 x DP and this is driving me nuts!!

My workaround is just to momentarily disable one of my three display then I say "no" when if the driver asks me if I want to keep that changes, the flickering then disappears but returns later, rinse then repeat ;)

HEADRAT

Any comment on the above AMD Matt or Joe?

I tested the AFR friendly mode and can confirm crossfire works very well as long as TAA is disabled. I get around 85 fps average @ 1440P VSR with Ultra settings. Only thing is that if you enable Godrays/Volumetric Lighting in the config then everything is brighter than normal when the sun is out. During the night or when cloudy the game looks normal.
Disable Volumetric lighting in Fallout4Prefs.ini by setting bVolumetricLightingEnable=0 and the game looks better and fps is almost double of a single card even in 1440P VSR mode all settings ULTRA :D

Update:

The Crysis 3 profile works almost perfect for 1080P with everything set to Ultra so will be using that. The scaling is not as good as AFR mode but the lighting levels are normal and I can turn up Godrays/Volumetric lighting without any problems. Get around 80fps when fps is unlocked.

"Sorry guys, but I no longer give any comments on Fiji voltage control implementation progress.
Anyway those Fury fanboys who spread rumors about developers claiming that
NVIDIA paid everyone to delay voltage control implementation of "overclocker's dream" know the situation much better."

Made me proper laugh that :D

But it is seemingly taking a long time and those who have custom voltage unlocked haven't seen much gain, even on LN2, so don't hold your breath guys.

Is there an Elite Dangerous crossfire profile yet?

I'm wondering whether to invest in a HOTAS and get the game, but if it's not going to work on eyefinity (I assume 1 card won't be enough for 3 screens) then I'll keep waiting...
