The AMD Driver Thread

Fallout 4 is slow on AMD because of the godrays GW mechanics as i heard

Yup, my money is on that being the reason just like the witcher 3 except instead of over tessellated hair, we now have over tessellated light rays :p Pointless amount of tess. for very little to no real visual benefit...

Doesn't the game release tomorrow official? Amd release drivers on a Tuesday if that is the case I would expect everyone to not jump on the hate wagon just yet..

If no driver release tomorrow then by all means show your frustration.

This.

Game is already out in countries like Australia so AMD's driver should already be here if its coming.

They left it late with COD but seem to have missed this release.

This.

That is the point. There is no visual difference between god rays low and high, and about 30FPS difference.

Heres an on/off comparison:

Tessellated rays of light...christ almighty. So a 20+ fps hit for something that's not even noticable? Just seems like theyre crowbarring in these gameworks effects and even in the side by side images the differences are minute at best. Since when were godrays something that needed more geometry thrown at them? Seems to have worked the way they're usually done ok in games upto now...thank goodness for gameworks those new tessellated godrays are a night and day difference.:mad:

bad engine also.
its like 1980 graphics.

Yeah never AMD's fault :D

Nothing to fault really, the game works fine for me. Just crossfire is not working, but then again neither is sli. Question is will AMD wait a few days or few months to release the crossfire drivers. lol :p

Best bet as you also found out was sticking to a single gpu solution. Problem solved :D

I actually currently have two 980ti's but can't test SLI as my motherboard decided to die on me the weekend so now have to wait for Asus to send a replacement :(

Single card performance is nearly always fine with AMD its the way they treat folk who have spent a lot of money on crossfire set-ups that annoys me.

Glad to see we have the full, unabashed support of fellow NVIDIA users such as yourself :) Thanks for taking the time to comment in the AMD driver thread.
