The AMD Driver Thread

again, can anyone else confirm this?

15.11.1 beta is fine.

From Guru3D.

Disabling crossfire through game profiles is working for me in Crimson, just tried with Saints Row 3. RadeonPro also lets you do this per app.

I really like how it detected all of my Steam games. It didn't detect my Origin or Uplay games though. No love for Ubisoft or EA I guess, can't really fault AMD for that though. :)

Yes, I haven't tested Shadow of Mordor yet but I did see it in Saints Row 3:

I'll send this to AMD, as well as the Fallout 4 compass glitch that others have also reported.

edit:

Ok, so I saw the same in Shadow of Mordor. Bottom left of the pic below.

edit 2: sent report to AMD.

Shader cache killed witcher 3 stuttering, but i have two big issues for now:

1) Pixelated artifacts (if i set 1600x900 or 1280x720 they disappear)

2)Fan speed that returns continuously to auto and interferes with msi afterburner fan speed curve.

Maybe i'll revert to 15.11.1. :bang:

Saying that, I do have a custom fan curve that keeps it below 60C, could be that?

It looks like, as mentioned earlier in this thread, the clks are going down instead of the fans going up when on auto.

yes exactly, I have this too, 390, clocks going up and down like a yoyo rather than the fans ramping up. Abysmal framerates as a result. Afterburner issues?

I noticed this too, AB fan speed is definitely not behaving itself. I'm not sure if 15.11.1 has the same issues too, will test later...

this looks like it's caused by Freesync mate. Disable Freesync and my clocks stay locked at 1100mhz with no dips at all. But why should we run without Freesynce right. Obviously AMD dont have any Freesync monitors to test on.

Argh.

Since upgrading I've had quite a few instances where my monitors will just go black and the computer freezes up (Have a G15 keyboard that displays CPU/RAM use %, these completely freeze as well when this happens). Freezes are happening at desktop not in game, forced to do a full reset to resolve.
Is this a known issue with these updated drivers, and is there a fix?

I had similar issues but in game, about 5 times, had to reset the overclock

Argh.

Same issue here, Fury Crossfire on a FreeSync monitor. FreeSync enabled always.

Frame Pacing causes clocks on both GPUs to go up and down like crazy. It has always done this so this isn't new. I just disable it.
The same applies for Frame Rate Target Control or whatever it's called.

However, with both off and FreeSync enabled, clocks are at 1040/500 on both card until the primary reaches 85. After that, stupid thing underclocks the core while leaving the fan speed at 25%, causing huge framerate issues.

I don't use AB for a custom curve, never have, so it seems to be a driver issue and sadly not related to AB nor FreeSync on my system.

Gonna go back to older drivers because this is just silly.

Anyone else having Overdrive doing potentially dangerous things of its own accord?

I messed about with it a couple of nights ago, and now I keep finding the fan control on both cards turned on with it set at the lowest (20%) speed in the global options.

I switched this back to Auto earlier and just now when I've booted the PC it has reverted to 20% Manual. I'm looking to replace these 7850s imminently but I'd rather they didn't go up in smoke!

Cant even get into windows from a cold boot with crimson installed :(, Can restart all day but as soon as I shutdown upon starting up after the Log on screen I just get a black screen.

Have to hold the power button to turn off.

Just installed the latest Crimson Drivers, impressed with the new look but now the clocks on my cards keep bouncing about like crazy causing stutter that's noticeable even using freesync.

Is there a fix for this?

Playing CS:GO with FRTC on feels really weird. I have mine set on 75fps and when I play cs:go the game feels really weird like its not smooth.

I don't have this problem on Star Wars Battle front though.

Anyone else noticing weird behavior with FRTC on?

Yeah I find CSGO doesn't play nice with any software messing with it. What I find best is to use its own console frame rate. Enable console and type FPS_max and set your fps.

Use something else to limit frames, I've never enjoyed the experience frtc gives, it's a bit naff really

Working fine in everything else I tested so far. Running it on Rainbow six, GTA5 and Fifa 16.

Hope its not too much longer till a Battlefront crossfire profile. Would be able to max out the settings and turn the resololution scale back up to 100% then.

I've had this with the last few drivers and still have the problem.

You've got 290x haven't you mate? That should be more than enough to run ultra everything and get higher than 60fps quite comfortably.
